My wife and I stayed at the Napoleon hotel and couldn't have been happier. This was our first trip to Europe and the staff at the Napoleon were first rate. The free breakfast buffet was varied and substantial and stayed open long enough for a few late mornings. The rooms and bathrooms were clean well appointed. We received a beautiful...

We were a family of five (two teenagers) and loved the Napoleon Hotel. The rooms were very spacious and clean. We ate at the hotel dining room several nights and thoroughly enjoyed all our meals and service. It is only a 10 minute walk to the Colosseum and also there is a metro stop just outside the entrance to the...

Lovely hotel for a family treat with the metro stop outside the door. All staff extremely helpful and breakfast was a lovely standard, relaxing and nice. Very quiet and peaceful with free internet access and WiFi. My daughter had her birthday whilst we were there and when we returned to the room there was a lovely gift from the hotel...

This was our first trip to Rome. We opted to have the hotel pick us up at the airport (for a fee) and found the service most convenient. The staff was welcoming and our room although small was quite pleasant. The bed was comfortable, the towels oversized and the bathroom was quite large by european standards. The location, directly across...

Stayed with my wife for 4 days at this hotel. Hotel was nice and clean. Staff polite and helpful. We booked a superior room, so we had enough space. The high-speed wireless internet connection functioned perfectly and really was a high-speed. The hotel is at the walking distance from all the main places of interest in Rome. The entrance to...

We spent our final vacation night in Rome at the Napoleon and discovered one of Rome's hidden gems. The staf was very engaging and accommodating. Arriving on a Friday afternoon, we were invited to attend that evening's Happy Hour referred to as "A Friendly Time", of wine tasting and local hors d'oeuvres. After a delicious lunch in the hotel restaurant...

Stayed in Hotel Napoleon for 4 nights based on brothers recommendation. Location was good, with most sights within 20 min walk. In rome, its hard not to walk with so many beautiful buildings to look at so make sure to bring walking shoes! Reserved a deluxe room with extra large bed. Room was spacious compared to other European hotels, bed...

Just returned from a four-night stay. Our room was a good size - we pushed the boat out and booked one of their larger ones. A tasty breakfast spread awaits you in the morning, all the usual choices of cold meats, fruit cheese, eggs, bacon, etc. The metro is outside, we found the tram across the square useful as well,...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
