It's so good to feel at home , and that is the Westin Excelsior in Rome. I have been coming here for business and pleasure for over ten years and I feel at home. The staff is so friendly. Marco and Luca at the fantastic bar prepare the best "negroni cocktail" ever. Tiziana , at the restaurant takes very good...

The Westin Rome hotel is a beautiful old style hotel with large modern rooms . The breakfast is very nice too. The location is good, near the city center. But if you are looking for a hotel to meet/ organize an event please note that unfortunately the Internet is really bad.

My wife and I stayed here for 6 days recently, along with a few other (adult) family members. Everyone very much enjoyed the stay - this is a really lovely hotel. This was the second trip my wife and I made to Rome in the past year; the first trip was in June of 2015 and we stayed at the...

This is a good old world hotel in a good location. I went for a business trip and stayed 3 nights. I realized that they have two different types of rooms - old world decorated rooms on lower floor and newer but bland looking rooms on higher floor. I was given a room on the higher floor and was not...

Dear TripAdvisor Thank you for saying the staff was courteous and happy to read you find the room clean. We indeed have different types of rooms; the Imperial style (in red and green) and the Biedermeier style (yellow). Best regards Marc Lannoy General Manager

It seems pretty clear having reviewed the pictures on trip advisor that there are several categories of rooms and we got the old ones. When we arrived we were delighted to get an early check in which after a 14 hour flight we were very grateful for. Checkin area behind the counter was in disarray (improved the next day). But...

Stayed at the Westin hotel a few weeks ago for a group meeting. The initial impression was nice - you can see the sense of grandeur in the lobby, bar area, the landing on each floor, etc till you look closely and realize paint is chipping, carpets aren't as clean, etc. Concierge Staff had an attitude. And no recognition of...

Had to try to the Excelsior because of its reputation as one of the grand dames of Roman hotels. Rome had super high ceilings. Very elegant but shabby-chic. Buffet breakfast was very impressive, much more so than the Marriott down the street, where I've also stayed. But the Marriott is more updated and a bit more comfortable even if the...

We stayed here for two nights when we were going to watch Italy playing Ireland. The hotel is full of elegant features. Wonderful breakfasts and the rooms are everything you would expect of a hotel of this standard. The staff are very friendly and helpful and it is situated in a good position for walking to the Spanish steps and...

The Westin Excelsior in Rome's city center is an impressive luxury class hotel. The hotel's facilities and amenities are truly luxury class. The spacious lobby and bar restaurant were inviitng. Our junior suite room was far more spacious than those in other typical luxury class hotels. It was like an apartment with a large bedroom and a large living room....

Dear TripAdvisor Thank you for your nice review and for saying we are an impressive luxury class hotel. First let me say that the staff is great. Regarding the rooms I expected more from a SPG property. Our room was tired. The carpet was filthy but the staff steam cleaned it the next day. One has to ask how it got that bad in the first place. Bathroom shower stall was disgusting. Big clump of hair left in...

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
