I found this gem on Trip Advisor. It is everything it is cracked up to be. As a classics major who studied in Rome 40 years ago for six months, I never dreamed I would sleep in a room overlooking the Forum of Augustus. Breathtaking. Gianluca could not have been more helpful in arranging transport from Fiumicino. This is a...

The location is everything here. A short walk to just about everything in Rome. Our room faced the Forum. You can watch the sunset over the Forum. In the morning, the views from your room are - cliche alert - priceless. Nice bathroom with a shower. The Marittis are wonderful hosts. There is not a hint of formality to the...

Two friends and I stayed here for 4 nights at the beginning of our holiday in Italy. One of us had stayed here a number of years ago and recommended it to us. We didn't't check out TripAdvisor or anything before we went there. Residenza Maritti is a fantastic place for visiting Rome - only minutes from lots of 'must-see'...

Our first time in Roma and no previous overnight experience. We were so pleasantly surprised not only by the location & the amenities, but the warm personal attention and the graciousness of our host(s), the Residenza Maritti family. Rather than a "typical" hotel experience, we were treated as guests staying with the Maritti family and welcomed into an Italian Roma...

Don't expect french milled soap. But do expect a clean, comfortable room, literally overlooking the Roman Forum. When we drove up, I wasn't sure what to think. The driver put our bags in front of a door that had no sign and he said "this is it." We made our way in and up the lift to the 4th floor,...

This is my first TripAdvisor review. It is so seldom you have a truly positive hotel/B&B experience such as we had with the Residenza Maritti that I felt compelled to write a review just so other people know about this wonderful place. First, as others have indicated, the location is wonderful. It is across the street from the Forum and...

We stayed here for 2 nights and enjoyed our visit immensely. We were within easy reach of the Colosseum and couldn't believe where we were. The rooms were spacious and perhaps what you would expect from an 18th century palace, lots of character. We helped ourselves to breakfast in the little kitchenette and you could cook in there if you...

What a perfect base for Rome. The rooftop terrace is wonderful, the rooms are large and airy and the location is superb: just minutes from the Colosseum and next to the forum of Augustus. There is a small kitchen so guests can make their own breakfast or snacks. We had an excellent meal on the terrace as the sun went...

I very rarely write Tripadvisor reviews, but this place was incredible. First of all, the location is literally the best possible location in Rome. You could throw a stone and hit the Temple of Mars. “We have our favourite rooms at the front of the building. Typical of housing in the Centro Storico the building is right on the one-way very narrow street. Traffic does go by all day long, but at maybe only 5 to 10 kph. Quieter rooms are available in the centre and rear of the building.”
