Stayed here for 4 nights after a tour of Italy. Staff were friendly, cheerful and eager to serve with excellent English. Only complaint was a bid noisy on the weekend nights but after all it is downtown Rome. The great view of the Vatican while eating breakfast was indeed a bonus.

I was SO disappointed with this hotel. Rome was the last stop on our 25th anniversary trip, and I was so looking forward to another wonderful hotel. We were greeted cordially and politely, sent up to the second floor on the tiniest elevator ever. Our luggage had to come up separately it was so small. The room was the size... More

This hotel is ideally located near the Vatican and the views of St Peter's Basilica from the rooftop bar are absolutely amazing. The rooms are clean, a reasonable size and well maintained. They have not been modernised particularly but it gives a really nice character to the hotel. All the staff were very helpful and the transfer service from the... More

The Atlante Star Hotel is ideally positioned near the Vatican and the underground rail and within easy walking distance of other historical sites. Its rooms are quiet and comfortable. The roof bar, which also serves coffee, is a must with 360 degree views of the city and close up overview of the Vatican City and Saint Peters. This view makes... More

This was my first time in Rome which was part of the G Adventure Tour. Sorry I couldn't tell you the price as this was picked by G Adventure Tour. Travelling with my daughter. The location was super! Great view from the roof top terrace. So exciting!!!! The food was great. Would stay here again.

The best quality of the Hotel is it's perfect location - 5 minutes walk to Saint-Angelo Castle, 10 minutes walk to Vatican, a reasonable walking distance to major historic cites of Rome's center (about 30 minutes walk to Piazza Navona, about 45 minutes walk or 8 subway stops to Coliseum). Nice and professional staff. The hotel's terrace opens up a... More

Wonderful 3 nites there with family. Airport shuttle pickup on time, ck in easy and informative and deskman helped us with upcoming tours. Room was as advertised, clean and sufficient. The hotel was close to restaurants, sights and of course the Vatican. Overall a good choice for sm families and fairly priced. At least one night enjoy their sister hotel... More

The Hotel is perfectly located in a safe area with convenience shops close by. It literally is 5 minutes to Vatican City walls. The hotel has kept its original charm and the decor is unique however not worth negative comments. The room was adequate, the bathroom was clean and the worse thing to make comment on was the noisy wooded... More

We booked a superior double with a jacuzzi bath, now if anyone's done this be warned....there is nothing superior about it! After arriving late night, we were met with the smallest room I've ever been in, with a tiny tiny window facing a triangle of pipes and old windows! No view WHATSOEVER!! Wardrobe was broken and wouldn't open entirely and... More

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighbourhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighbourhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighbourhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
