We chose to stay at Daysleeper after reading positive reviews on Trip Advisor and were not disappointed. We took a bus from the airport to the train station (40minute journey for 4euros, tickets can be purchased at the airport), from which Francesco had emailed us walking directions to the B&B- only 10-15minutes. The route was 'interesting' and I wouldn't have...

It was mine and my boyfriends first holiday away together and he found this hidden gem of a B&B in Rome! After a polite conversation with Manuela and Francesco on the phone we made a booking for September. They arranged a punctual pick up for us, with the driver filling us in on all the places to visit in Rome....

Very clean room, wonderful continental breakfast, nice to have free minibar in the room. Location not bad, short walk to metro stations and the Termini. Francesco was a great host. Did not get to meet Manuela. The private transfer service from the airport that Francesco arranged was great as well, and a very reasonable 35 Euro all inclusive for the...

We felt like we had our own little apartment in Rome. The stairway, the courtyard, the train station, and the busy little restaurant below us. Close the window and it was tranquil, open the window and you're in Roma! I loved our two days here. The chic room was a nice contrast after spending a week at a farm in...

It was my first time in rome and staying at a B&B....and I loved it. Although it is not central Rome and very close to the termini, once you figured out your way it was so easy to get everywhere. The actual B&B was great, the room was large, clean and nice. The breakfast was very good......homemade desserts, yogurt, toast,...

It was a great B&B in Rome, really convenient to the Roma Termini train station. The B&B was clean, modern and quiet, and Francesco and Manuela were wonderful hosts. I had the single room and it was spacious for a solo traveller. The complimentary minibar was a nice touch! Also, the continental breakfasts were great, I really like the homemade...

Daysleeper is a great B&B where Francesco the owner (we didnt meet his wife) looked after us extremely well. We took up the option to get picked up at the airport, which was easy, clean and comfortable and then were impressed by our room which was called 'nightswimming'. We took advantage of the closeness to the Metro, the spa in...

My wife and I just got back from Rome. The Daysleeper was a perfect way to end our trip. Manuela is an excellent host. We stayed in the "Night Swimming" room which was probably one of the bigger ones. It has the most comfortable bed (much needed after 11 days of bad ones) and a great breakfast. The B&B is...

This was my second stay in Daysleeper and what a pleasure it was to come back. Hosts Francesco and Manuela are truly dedicated to make sure that visitors feel welcome. Breakfast is the time to have chat with Francesco over a super cup of cappuccino and he will suggest some very unusual sight to visit. This time for me it...

I booked a trip to Rome and the Daysleeper as a 30th birthday gift and cannot praise this B&B highly enough. We were contacted prior to our arrival to ensure that the owners would be present when we arrived, and at the same time I asked if anything special could be done as it was a 30th. We were shown...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
