This was my second time at Ancient Rome B&B...I was lucky enough for it to be available for New Years Eve. The Monti area is my new favourite neighbourhood in Rome. Its a cool area, with great restaurants, and wine bars...and not many tourists!!! The Colosseum is just down the road, and its incredible to see it in the near...

Ancient rome is everything we could have asked for. Perfect location to walk everywhere, 5-10min to the colosseum in one direction, 10min to the Trevi fountain in another. To get here catch the 64 bus from stop L outside the Termini building and get off at Palazzo Delle Esposizioni (about 3-4stops) and the B&B is a 5min walk from here....

My family of four stayed here for four nights in July. It’s a perfect location…10 minute walk to Colosseum, 10 minutes to subway stop Cavour. There’s a grocery store right across the street and numerous restaurants right nearby. Our room was clean and perfect for my family. We also had a fridge, microwave and some dishes, which was a nice...

We were shopping for a hotel in Rome and found this small place listed a number of places but all said they were full. We sent them an email and received a prompt response, followed by an exchange of messages as we asked questions. I had to tell them that we were not ready to make a decision and they...

My friend and I spent two weekend nights in the Hotel Ancient Rome and found it clean and comfortable and in a great location. It is a little difficult to find, so a taxi will save you wandering aimlessly through a maze of very attractive but slightly confusing streets. We had a large, clean room. The air con wasn't working...

The location is great! Just down the street and a block over from the Colosseum. Walking up the street and seeing the Colosseum come in view is awesome!!! The hotel is on a little side street, but it gets quite noisy during the week with businesses nearby. The windows do a fairly good job keeping out noise. The rooms are...

This place was chosen purely on reviews and I was not dissapointed. An extremely good value for money! The location was quite close to Colosseum, yet on the nice narrow old-town street. A lot of restaurants and cafeterias in the area. Everything was accessible by subway, a Colosseo station was 5-6min walk away. We stayed there with a 5-year old...

Neighbourhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighbourhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighbourhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
