Arrived at the hotel in the middle of a torrential thunderstorm - desk staff checked us in quickly to allow us to go and dry off! Room 306 was at the front of the hotel overlooking opera house - small but clean and ha everything you need; fridge, safe and powerful shower. Hotel is located very centrally, just off Via...

Location:- around 3mins from Repubblica Metro station (exit Via Nazionale, then 2nd road on the left (Via Firenze). Main attractions within walking distance (although we took the metro to the Vatican). Room:- clean and modern (although small compared to N.American rooms). The most comfy mattresses ever (like memory foam). No issues with the room over-heating (we put the heating on,...

Although the room was quite small, this hotel is very nice, clean, friendly and helpful staff, and in a great location. We took the train from the airport, and its literally a ten minute walk - maybe 15 to take the time to read the map. It is right across the street from the opera house, so that should help...

Hotel is as it was mentioned in the website. rooms are small but good and spotlessly clean. All the attractions are within walking distance from the hotel. We even walked to the Vatican. Reception staff is courteous and friendly. I...

I recently stayed at the IQ Hotel in Rome, Italy, on january 21-23, 2013 and would definitely stay there again if ever in Rome. The rooms are nicely appointed and impeccibly clean. Although the vending machines seem a bit strangem, they are fairly priced and contain just ebout anything you could want, beverages, wine, snacks, health and beauty needs. Christian...

Stayed for 3 nights in February. Location: THE BEST! We walked to all the sites.. Furthest being the Vatican (1hr walk) but was amazing taking in the sites. Not too far from anything!! The staff were extremely friendly. Rooms were clean, modern and exactly what one needed in Rome. Vending machines have drinks to buy which was a nice touch....

I originally booked the Exedra Hotel, however, after reading reviews on it and other Rome hotels looking outdated and old , decided to go with the highly reviewed IQ hotel, especially when it said it was clean. I appreciated their modern and clean environment. It was a pleasant experience and the staff are all very friendly! I love that they...

Excellent location, clean rooms, friendly/helpful staff, great breakfast. What more can you ask for? There is a outdoor lounge area on the top floor which is open 24 hours, it is covered and heated so we were up there drinking wine till late every night. Great for a group of friends.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
IQ is a 4-star hotel, with a twist! Located in downtown Rome, just a short 15 minute walk from the Trevi Fountain or the Colosseum and with Repubblica metro station just 200 metres away, hotels don't get much central than this. IQ guests enjoy free Wi-Fi connection throughout the hotel, a lovely terrace where to unwind overlooking the Opera House, and free access to our gym and sauna. We believe in tailor-made hospitality, so there are vending machines in virtually every floor, where you can buy yourself a bottle of wine, a pack of crisps, a tooth-brush or even an umbrella (not that you'll need it often!), All at very competitive prices. Now that you've found us... Welcome to a whole new hotel experience! IQ STAFF ... more   less
