At first it looks weird but it's jus first immpresion because hotel is in the old building and only in on one floor. But it's really OK. Close to Railway station (Termini), close to shops and close to Coloseum. Very nice rooms with comfy beds. Breakfast just outside in the corridor, very nice coffee machine (tasty coffee)

We had experience staying in Simone hotel for three nights. First, the location is convenient, it is about 10mins walking from Termini where we can take bus to needed places. the hotel is organised in a renovated apartment, it is nice. The room is nice, and big enough. The service is well-provided. The breakfast is in a cafeteria in Termini,...

I had done much research into our hotel choice as we had a relatively small budget. Most hotels were very expensive and the price of this seemed too good to be true. We booked our room in hotel filippo which is owned by same people. We went to filippo but were brought down the street to hotel simone which was...

It's around 5 - 8 minutes walk from the train station (Rome Termini). We took some time to find the Hotel as it was nestled in a residential building and didn't look like a Hotel at all. Only after ringing a bell and speaking through a microphone, we were allowed to enter the building. The room was very neat and...

For the price we paid we could have gotten a better hotel in a better location, poor value. The room itself is average at best. The beds weren't very comfortable. Even with the curtain in the bathroom down you can still see people in the bathroom through the inch on either side that doesn't cover the window. There is not...

This hotel appears to be managed by the same owners as Hotel Filippo, just along the road, and if you look on Tripadvisor for that hotel you will see that often guests are taken to Hotel Simone instead - we were. The hotel has its own website though and deserves a review. We spent hours looking for a reasonably priced,...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

“Ask for hotel simone rather than hotel filippo. Hotel filippo seemed to be closer to a bar which had loud music, whereas hotel simone was in lovely quiet residential safe area of the same street.”
