We just had 3 days in Rome and stayed at Franks house. It was really close to Terminii station and within about 10 minutes easy walking . As easy as walking out of the station along the main street that runs parallel to the station and then take one street right and bingo you are there. Obviously if you are...

What a nice bed and breakfast! Our host was very friendly and spent a great deal of time with us explain the city of Rome to us and helping to fine tune our itinerary. We were within walking distance of most of the main attractions (besides the Vatican). The room was clean and large for a European room. The only...

A great place to crash with air con. We had the room with private bathroom down the hallway which was very nice, clean and modern. About a 10-15 min walk with luggage to the train station. 2-3 min walk to the Metro station. No breakfast voucher as mentioned. Hairdryer you had to ask for it. Owner is a nice, pleasant-to-talk-to young...

I have to admit that i was surprised how good this place was. Frank is a former New Yorker who moved to Rome some time ago, so he is fluent in English and knows Rome inside out. The apartment has three bedrooms. One is the onwers, and two others are for rent. We had the smaller one, facing the yard....

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
