Moses Fountain is a real gem. It is almost impossible to imagine that you could find such a combination of uniqueness, centrality, comfort and personable attention by an owner in any major city but Moses Fountain and its owners fulfil all of these criteria and more besides. You actually stay in a fountain!! The decor is beautifully restrained yet opulent...

My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon. We were greeted on arrival by the owner of the hotel, who showed us in and explained the various rooms and how to make things work then left us to relax. Breakfast was served between 8am and 10am, but they were more than happy to provide it earlier when we needed...

This is a wonderful alternative to a traditional hotel! Each room is unique, tastefully decorated, comfortable and very clean. The bathrooms are spacious with designer toiletries provided. The robes and slippers are a welcome comfort after a long day of sightseeing and the free minibar is a rare find. Breakfast is a wonderful array of pastries and fruits enjoyed on...

Myself and my husband spent the first four days of our honeymoon in this elegant establishment and we cannot recommend it enough. The decoration is sophisticated throughout and in an extremely busy city at the height of summer it was great to return to the calmness and quietness you find here. Emanuelle was more than helpful, pointing out all the interesting...

My husband and I stayed at the Moses Fountain Hotel with our 18month old son for 2 nights, and absolutely loved it. The hotel has a fantastic location, and the rooms exceeded our expectations. The rooms were very clean and modern, with free mini bar, free Nespresso Coffee Machine, and free Wi-fi for the internet. We ate our breakfast on...

The Moses Fountain is truly a wonderful gem of a hotel in the heart of Rome. Andrea and Emanuela are such gracious hosts; they make you feel like you are visiting old friends, who happen to live in a very stylish guesthouse located in a 16th century fountain. The rooms are large, very nicely decorated and maintained in impeccable condition....

We travelled around Italy for our wedding and honeymoon staying in a total of seven different rooms in a number of cities. This was by far our most perfect experience. Despite this being the one place I had the most reservations about ...especially as it was more like a serviced apartment rather than a hotel) When we arrived we were...

Stayed here in May for a 4 night stay. What can i say that hasn't been said? -The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the Termini Train Station which makes it very handy to get to after you fly in to Rome. The tour buses all run from just around the corner at the Piazza de Repubblica. The...

We stayed at the Moses Fountain mid May for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the hotel. At first we didn't love the location as the centro storico had more character but by the end we really liked it. Very central to sites such at Borghese (10min walk) and Coloseaum (10min walk) plus there were plenty of places to see around...

if you do not mind a few flights of stairs this is a pleasant alternative to the usual hotel room, you get a bit of space, personal and refines furnishings, a lovely bathroom and even your personal steam-room with views over Rome.... the owner's great city tips are another bonus, really worked out great for us.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
