I stayed here when I was doing an inter rail with two friends. Do not bother at all - although the host, Domenico, is extremely nice, the rooms are terrible. They are extremely hot (I couldn't sleep because of the heat), and one of my friends woke up with bed bug bites. I returned to Rome with my boyfriend recently... More

I stayed at Appia guesthouse with four of my friends in May 2013. The accommodations are basic, but the owner is the friendliest person ever! He showed us around the neighborhood and gave recommendations about where to eat, etc... One of my friends left her medications at the guesthouse by accident, and had to contact the owner a couple of... More

We stayed here for 3 nights. First night was good, in a quad room. We were moved by Dom the next night into a double room. Ended up getting attacked by bed bugs so bad. Toilet stank, all the sewerage seemed to sit in a tank or something under.. Some weird flushing thing. Dom is a very obliging owner, he... More

I 'm very sorry for the inconvenient and I told you when you showed me. But in Italy we are not usual to have this kind of problem like in other country , the day after you gone I closed all rooms and a special expert came to resolve a problem and that's all. More

Appai guesthouse is not a bad place to stay, especially considering Rome has a reputation of not offering the best accomodation. I actually quiet enjoyed it, just don't go ANYWHERE in Rome expecting a palace, especially with how cheap this place is. Its basic yes, but most of all I appreciated how SAFE it felt. Pros: -10 minute walk to... More

Great hostel, so cosy. It has clean rooms, clean bathroom and an acceptable kitchen. It is near a metro station and also a few markets. The owner is so friendly, so I'm pretty sure that he will help you in anything you want. Rome, wonderful city!!!

The rooms are fine except it may get a little warm. There are fans but pathetic one. The toilets in the room don't really work because of choke or some weird reasons. The common toilet is bigger, more spacious and it's better. The bed is a little dirty though. It gets really itchy because of insects or whatever is in... More

Perfect location and wonderful city!! The b & b's simple and comfortable, and when you enter there is a very familiar atmosphere! It 's been a perfect permanence, really relaxing and fun. Ah, there is to add the friendliness of the owner, who nowadays is not so common!! The only think not so good was the breakfast but eventually with... More

We stayed there 3 nights and in my opinion, for this price we should have deserved a better service. The owner of the hostel was friendly, though he was barely in the hostel to solve our problems. Be prepared, there is not always breakfast remained Positives: Friendliness, no certain breakfast hours, distance to metro station (re di roma) Negatives: Staff... More

My husband, little girl and I had spent one week in Rome and stayed at this B&B and we do recommend it. The rooms were very comfy and clean. We did get lots of information about where to go and where to eat from the owner. Excellent location too. We did get a fantastic service from the owner and his... More

I planned to write a long and elaborated review about how disgusting the place was, but as I was reading the reviews I saw that people have already written about it so I can just confirm: it is the dirtiest place people can live in Rome. We had a double room booked for 4 or 5 nights but we decided... More
