Pros: *the room was clean and the staff as helpful as can be with limited English-speaking abilities. *Good location Cons: *95 steps and 14 landings later you get to your floor. There is no elevator. *The breakfast is limited and the same everyday. *no lobby or sitting area outside your room

It was hard to find this tiny hotel, but after climbing up to the 4th floor, we were greeted by friendly staff. Although only one of them spoke English we still managed to communicate quite well. Our room was spacious located at the top most floor with beautiful bathroom with bath. I guess we got lucky, because other rooms were...

I stayed here with a friend during a trip around Europe. First of all, there is no lift (as indicated on the 'hotel's' website) so we had to walk up the 96 steps with 20+kg suitcases with no assistance. Our room was Ok...the bathroom was horrendous!! If you're over 5'10 don't even bother trying to get into the shower! The...

Great Location. PROS: -On Metro Stop(Barberini) -close to Trevi Fountain, Spanish steps -A/C worked Great. -Friendly staff. CONS: Room was tiny. -Bathroom Rough. Shower was tiny and it leaked. No tub. Water tank for toilet also leaked down wall at one point and so we closed the pocket door to the bathroom and two tiles fell off the wall. -The...

The hotel is perfectly located close to the Trevi fontain and in walking disance to everything in central Rome. It is right across the street from the Barberini Metro-stop, but can be a bit hard to find as there is no sign. Check the doorbell-signs and you will find it. The staff is friendly and helpful, but they dont speak...

This is a very nice place very close to the Trevi fountain, the Spanish steps and metro. You need to be aware that this is very basic but very nice. We had a suite which was two very large rooms and bathroom. Being right up in the roof area we could not see out the windows. Very clean , air...

This hotel is perfectly located for a visit to Rome. We were given one of the suites with separate living room, which was quite a luxury for us, so were fairly happy with the accommodation even though the decor was a little dated. However the view from the suite was great and it made us feel at home. The people...

Spent there several days in April on a vacation. The location is very good and central. The room is clean, the size of the room is reasonable. it is minimally equipped. No elevator, 96 steps on the way (we did not mind...). The staff hardly speak English so if you do not speak Italian or Spanish do not expect to...

The only good thing about this so called hotel is its location. Other than this, it is an awful place and I can't possibly see how it has generated good reviews and why serious and credible sites such as booking.com and otel.com present it as being a 4* hotel chargibg around €200 per night. I had booked a double room...

Staying in Colonna

Neighbourhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very centre of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping centre, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.

“There are 13 sets of steps to the apartments but if you can make it they are really worth it. It truly is ideally located. Great continental breakfast when you choose to have it in serving times and you get asked each evening so you have some choice. We will be returning. On that point 5 Minutes from the Trevi Fountain. Don;t miss this accommodation.”
