Detailed Reviews
The property is perched in between the cliff leading down to the narrow but wonderful sandy beach. I stayed in room 107 with a large terrace, perfect!
There are many stairs to get to the beach but the water is so clear, the shallow sand allows you to hang out in the water comfortably. The personal was delightful, very polite and attentive even at the end of a long "different" season... Summer 2020!

Absolutely stunning sea side views at this hotel. The flora and fauna on the property are also gorgeous. Everywhere you turn, the green spaces provide respite.
I arrived prior to my check in time, and the staff allowed me to use the gym and pool until my room was ready. The gym was tidy and had good equipment and the pool was lovely.
I checked into my room and headed right to the beach where the blue waters beckoned.
Dinner at the restaurant was on the pricier side, but service was impeccable and the food was delicious, ditto at breakfast, but it was complimentary.
The staff, environment, food and sense of hospitality was outstanding and I will definitely return to this hotel, when in and around Rome.

An amazing experience. Rooms and stairs into the rocks of a mountain with an estonishing view. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, aperitif, nothing will be as usual with that view. Amazing seaside, wonderful swimming pool. The only difficulties are the stairs, you need to make them a lot, but the reward is the view. The beach is very limited and exclusive but you can be on grass as well. And if sea is not good, you can go for the swimming pool. Rooms are old fashion but very clean. All of them got amazing view. Breakfast is served (due to covid restriction) on buffet but with waiter serving you. Lunch and dinner honestly some of the best I've ever had (and I'm going very often outside). The price is a top level price, everything is expensive but that's fair enough.

The hotel’s setting is stunning, but what made our stay great was Grand Hotel le Rocce’s staff.
On our first night, we had dinner at the hotel. Our infant daughter and our jet-lagged two year old fell asleep in our arms just a few minutes into the meal. Our waiter, seeing that my wife and I were both down to one arm, arranged our plates so that we could better get to our food and even cut my wife’s steak.
It was that kind of service and personal care that we received throughout our stay and why we’ll be back.

We needed a hotel relatively close to Fiumicino but didn't want to stay in Rome and are SO glad we came upon GHLR. The pictures are totally as advertised...the clearest water, clean and classy rooms, serene well manicured property, which made the rates feel extremely reasonable. It was a holiday weekend, and almost everyone there was Italian, so we knew we were in a special place. It's not suited for anyone that will have an issue with lots of stairs, but we liked the free workout after enjoying all the food Italy has to offer. We truly appreciated the friendly staff and laid back vibe with no influencers taking pics every 5 seconds.

My husband and I, Giuseppe, had our wedding reception here and the location was beyond amazing. This particular location of the ulisse coast had a spectacular view and it was very unique. We had many varieties of apperitvo, two main courses and many varieties of desserts, and all of the food tasted outstanding. Not only was the food outstanding, it was also very unique. But what made our day special, was the staff. Alessandro helped us plan the reception from the beginning to end, and in the best way possible. He kept in contact with us about everything and most importantly he accommodated us when the weather took a turn. Fabio, the Matre D, was great! He attended to us and all of our needs that day. He made sure that my husband and I...and our guests, were well looked after. We will never forget the way they made us feel special. We will definitely be visiting again soon. Thank you!

We travelled with our three kids. We stayed in two rooms. We can’t even begin to explain how kind and professional the staff is. Every single member of staff who we crossed paths with were so unbelievably kind and happy.
It’s by far our best experience with hotel staff and service.
The beach is so romantic. Tiny but awesome. The pool is great. We never felt the space was overloaded with people. The food of all restaurants (panoramic, pool and beach) was delicious. The rooms were spacious and had everything one could ask for.
But again the best of this hotel was the staff. Thank you once again for your kindness. And for helping us with our sons unforgettable birthday. See you soon

My wife and I adore this hotel! We stayed at this hotel last week for (unfortunately only) 3 nights on a multi city multi generational family vacation. During this time we decided we will be returning to Italy to stay for a longer visit to this property. The hotel is an older structure, and the rooms are “simple”, but they have everything you need. They are exceptionally clean and in excellent condition. Every room that we saw (our group had 4) had outstanding views. We had a terrace which was very large and had a reclining chaise lounge, along with 2 chairs and a table where I was able to work. The view from the terrace was one of the most beautiful sea views I have ever witnessed. Looking down on the different public terraces of the hotel built into a cliff on the water’s edge – gorgeous.
One of the wonderful things about this hotel is the way that it is built into the edge of a cliff with various terraces at different levels connected by walkways and stairs. The results are many different amazing views and lots of space! While there were lots of people staying at the hotel it didn't feel crowded. There was always lots of space in prime areas to relax and have a drink or read a book that were not crowded. What a change!
The service was excellent. From the staff at reception, to the cleaners, Fabio and his team in the restaurants, and so on. This can make or break a trip and it made ours!
The food was excellent!!! Seafood and pasta focused, but some meat options too.
There are lots of stairs on the property to get down to the beach, and to and from the higher level rooms. If this is a problem this may not be the place for you. Having said that my in-laws were with us and they enjoyed it immensely.
This hotel does not have a roof top terrace (answer to a question below) but it isn't required. I have never seen a hotel with so many vista terraces!!!
The hotel has its own small private beach. The water is so clear and beautiful that I didn't want to get out.
My only disappointment was that we were not able to extend our stay.

Before booking this hotel, I read the reviews myself and I can only agree: this is a TOP hotel.
We booked late and so had rather 'standard' rooms. They were spacious though, and had a small balcony with sea view! It was great to wake up. The bathroom was old fashioned and perhaps one of the few drawbacks. A shower cubicle with plastic sliding doors does not fit in with the "grandeur" of this hotel.
Furthermore: super breakfast with incredible choice! It's a pity that because of corona, you can't queue for the buffet yourself: you have to point to everything and then someone from the - otherwise very friendly - staff puts everything on a tray.
Lovely restaurant to dine in the evening: sea view, good food and drinks, attentive staff.
We often had the swimming pool and the jacuzzi to ourselves! Most guests were on the beach.
For someone who does not like to walk up and down stairs, it is not an ideal hotel. On the other hand, you can work on your fitness here :-)

My family enjoyed a beautiful stay at Grand Hotel Le Rocce. Rooms and balconies were clean and spacious. Stunning views from all parts of the property and the beach landscape was unique. Management was very responsive to all requests and utilized technology to make our stay more efficient. Sit down lunch at their formal restaurant was well done as was the more casual lunch by the pool. Formal dinner was also delicious. We enjoyed the breakfast service each morning, there was a wide variety of options to please everyone.

Good morning,
taxi transfer is one of the possibile choice but it might be too expensive if you're on a budget (180€ one way from Fiumicino - 140,00€ from Naples Capodichino).
Train is a good and cheap option:
first you need to take the Leonardo Express shuttle that brings you to Rome Termini Station from the airport terminal (€ 14,00 per person).
From the train station you can take the "Regionale" train (slower but cheaper - € 8,00 per person) or the "Intercity" (faster but a bit more expensive - € 14,00 / € 17,00 per person). In both cases before buying the tickets make sure that specific train stops to FORMIA-GAETA train station.
Once you get to Formia-Gaeta train station the easiest and faster way to reach the hotel is by taxi (approx. 25€ one way).
Finally, as already suggested you might consider to rent a car at the airport terminal and this could probably be the best solution of them all as you might need to use it to visit the surrounding town of Sperlonga and Gaeta city centre.
There are ash trays provided on the room balcany so im guessing you can.
Just back and didn’t have a car either. It was €15 each way to Gaeta and €20 to Sperlonga.
Dear Mr. Davie,
thank you for contacting us. Following to your request we inform you that Deluxe rooms "The Tower" are definitely a very nice choice among our rooms. They are located in the central building of the Hotel, they both have no balcony (because of their particular location) but a window with front sea view of the bay. The Tower on the first floor, is approx. 30 square meters, so it is a wide and comfortable room; if you are looking for a romantic accommodation then this might be the perfect solution for you.
Otherwise if a nice and spacious balcony is mandatory for you you might take a look at our Superior rooms with terrace and front sea view or at our Deluxe rooms.
Shall you need further information do not hesitate to contact us back here on Tripadvisor, on Facebook, or by E-mail.
Kindest regards
Dear Mr. Karla,
thank you for contacting us.
Regarding your request we inform you that we do have Standard rooms and Superior rooms that can accommodate 3 people. In order to verify availability and prices of this kind of accommodation you can open our official website and as per the third person you can select 1 person from 13 to 17 years old even if you will be 3 adults.
For any further request or information feel free to contact us, we will be glad to help!
Kindest regards
Stefano Viola
