We visited in October and stayed in a room with a Terrace (double). The room was older then we expected. The bed was very uncomfortable but the location was great. The bathrooms need some updating. Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed our terrace.
I booked this hotel because of the fabulous Tripadvisor reviews of HPB and they were on point!!!!! HPB is walking distance to some touristy places: ANtica Port Alba (oldest pizzeria in world), Pulcinella statue, museums, underground tour, Spaccanopoli, original Sorbillo (considered one of best pizzerias in world). This place is an oasis from the chaos of Naples. The courtyard is quiet and the rooms are soundproof unless you open the balcony doors. The breakfast was wonderful: so many choices. I loved the ricotta cheese in the teeny mason jars and the daily but different regional pastries especially sfogietellas. The staff were fabulous: nothing was ever too much. I want to praise Cristiana since I interacted with her the most but all the staff were wonderful. I want to apologize o the late night male staff who let me into my room when i accidentally left key in my room, while he was coming up I used my friend's bathroom in his own room. When I came back, I had to go back downstairs and he was irritated (which I deserved) but he opened my door for me, thank you and God bless you sir, please don't hate us Americans. The staff also helped in getting taxis and for our gorgeous private limo along Amalfi Coast. The rooms are clean and so whimsical: I had standard and my friend had terraced room that had amazing 360 degree views of upper Naples and Mt Vesuvius. My friend and I loved HPB and Naples so much we reserved 3 extra nights but had to move to apartment which is huge and had 2 balconies facing Piazza Bellini and Via Constantinopoli and a rooftop terrace. My only gripe was the poor WiFi in apartment, so I used my hotspot on my phone not reliant on HPB wifi, but this is so minor. I would recommend Hotel Piazza Bellini highly to anyone trying to discover where to stay in Naples. Don't stay in those overpriced hotels on bay front, stay in the historical center which is the real soul and heart of Naples. Also despite the rough appearance of historical center there's military 24 hrs/day in Piazza Bellini and police are always patrolling Naples so I, a petite female, never felt unsafe even walking around late at night. The scariest thing is when volcano will erupt. Thank you staff and thank your Naples citizens for being so helpful to me, even trying to understand my broken Italian. More tourists should visit Naples, gets a bad reputation but it doesn't deserve it because its people are beautiful and kind. Look beyond the graffiti and worn looking building and chaotic traffic. When I was last in Naples 15 years ago, the garbage was horrendous but now I see street cleaners in mornings…
We stayed four nights in the Hotel Piazza Bellini and would highly recommend. It was an oasis in a hectic city. We loved having breakfast in the courtyard and just sitting there planning our day. Our room was spacious and very clean. We were close to the metro, museum and restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They called fixed rate taxis for us to airport and train station which arrived in minutes. We really enjoyed our stay there.
Perfect location, nice atmosphere. We loved sitting in the courtyard for breakfast and in the evening. We arrived late at night and were given a room overlooking a dark inner sort of alley. There was no soap, shampoo etc but reception desk quickly provided. The next morning we asked if another room with a nice view could be available for the remainder of our stay and were promptly moved to a lovely room overlooking courtyard! Enjoyed our stay, very helpful staff, great breakfast and location.
Even if it costs a little more, try to book a room with a balcony. Ours had a balcony large enough for a table with a couple of chairs, plus two loungers. The view was spectacular! The room itself was relatively small and we had a minor issue with the A/C. The bathroom (which also had a door directly onto the patio!) was somewhat large by European standards and the shower was a good size with decent water pressure. By far the highlight of this hotel was the breakfast buffet that you eat in the lovely little courtyard. It was the best breakfast that we had during the 16 days we stayed in Europe. I was so hard-pressed to find a decent pastry in Italy, but their breakfast was outstanding! I also appreciated the helpful desk attendant who took the time to show us how to take a local train to Herculaneum, including giving us the local train schedule. The local trains are on a lower level of the station, different from the trains you'd take to Rome/Florence/Milan. The hotel is easy walking distance to the National Archaeological Museum. The only negative is that generally we found there was a lot of trash around the area (outside the hotel) and it seemed crowded and dirty compared to other cities we visited. …
Excellent location, just around the corner from Dante metro station. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious. There is a beautiful courtyard where you can sit and have a drink, tranquility yards away from the madness of Naples 😁
A nice hotel with a nice patio to sit and have breakfast there. Good location to visit the historical center. We had two rooms. the rooms were o.k. But one of them was not so clean as expected. the beds were not comfortable enough. we stayed there for one night . all in all I recommend the hotel
Good value for money. Great interiors, friendly staff. Bed is super comfortable and linen are high quality. Pay attention when booking as many stairs can lead to your room. Little details to improve, like additional rubbish bin, glasses or cups in the room and small sanitary bags. Overall great experience.
We couldn't be more pleased with our stay at Hotel Piazza Bellini. It was such a nice, spot in the heart of Naples. Our first time in Naples and some of the travel books had us a bit concerned about the city, but as seasoned travelers, we always prefer the center of towns to really experience the heartbeat. Our room was very clean and comfortable. And while it was on the 2nd floor facing the street, it was super quiet all night long. The hotel courtyard was a perfect place to start our day with breakfast and our evening with a cocktail.. We walked all around the area and felt very comfortable, even at night. I highly recommend Hotel Piazza Bellini.
My family had a wonderful stay at Hotel Piazza Bellini. As a family of 5 we had two rooms, one with a queen sized bed, the other room which was configured with a bed in a loft space up some stairs (with a very comfortable sofa bed to sleep on downstairs). The rooms opened onto a balcony which overlooked the main street with beautiful tall doors and curtains. The rooms were very clean and beds comfortable. The breakfast was buffet style with a vast mix of continental and traditional pastries, with the option of sitting downstairs in the courtyard. The staff were very friendly, spoke english and assisted with us getting our transport to Positano. Can not recommend this hotel highly enough!
