A small hotel near the centre of Naples, situated in a small side street, it was clean, quiet and comfortable with very friendly and helpful staff. Guglielmo who was part of the staff taxied us to and from Pompei and to the airport was a very steady driver and spoke English well. Our room was very spacious with a large double and two single beds with an excellent bathroom.

The personnel are polite and helpful, the rooms are big, clean and comfortable and the hotel itself is a ten-minute walk from the city center. Overall it was a very positive experience, the only slight inconvenience is that the car they provide to travel to the airport is a little more pricy than taking a cab.

My first visit to Naples wasn’t particularly joyous, but this time I opted to stay a bit more ‘in the mix’ and I took a room at this hotel for 2 nights. I’ll be honest my first reaction wasn’t joy as I seen the alley it was located and outer appearance, but once inside I was more than relieved. The hotel must recently have been done up as it is VERY well presented and maintained. Room traditional Italian quirky and small, but clean, all necessities covered style affair. Despite my initial misgivings the area was also very nice. Not a lot of restaurants but plenty of cafes and student types (it’s near the university) walking around. About 15 min walk from the train station, but very close to Metro and just a short walk from both the waterfront and Spanish Quarter. Really liked the hotel, my only real gripe is that I didn’t have the times explained for breakfast but I can live with that.

Lovely hotel, led in a friendly and heart-warming way. The hotel is located right in the heart of Naples. Rooms are fair for the price and clean. Had a good stay here and would recommend it to others too.

Booked this hotel as it was close to the port. Arrived at night after a €30 taxi ride from the airport. Area was horrible but the hotel was fine. An old building but quite modern when you enter. We decided not to venture out as we didnt feel safe & had an early start the next morning. Room had air conditioning & a small bathroom Breakfast was continental with a good variety of drinks. Ideal if you need a hotel close to the Port but personally probably wouldnt use this area again

Location is great, near to metro, shopping area. Very modern and spacious room. With nice flatscreen tv, more then avarage shower, nice big double bed. And spacious.errace. A pity we were there in november. Makes us dream to come back in springtime or summertime. Very clean. Nice breakfast. Sweet and normal bread. (!) Boiled egg. Fruit juice. Excellent coffee. To recommend. Very reasonable price.

We were completely satisfied with our 4-night stay at this hotel. The staff was courteous and helpful when approached and unobtrusive otherwise. The breakfast provided was fairly typical, nothing fancy, but it was adequate in providing a start to the day. The hotel is very clean and has obviously been recently updated. Our room was spacious enough, and the bathroom was clean and fairly large. I, a good-sized man, did not feel cramped in the shower. All fixtures were in good working order. The street is relatively quiet, though the very busy main thoroughfare, Corso Umberto, is only a block away, with many businesses and restaurants. The metro stop, Universita, is also at Corso Umberto, so is less than two blocks from the hotel; very convenient. The day we arrived the elevator was out of order, but the young man at the desk carried our bags up to the second floor for us. After that we did notice that the elevator was back in service, though we didn’t need to use it much. We would happily stay here again.

We stayed at the Albergo Del Golfo for three nights in June whilst we visited Pompeii and explored Naples. The hotel is basic, but very clean and tidy. We stayed in a quad room which was very spacious even with three people in it. The beds were comfortable and there was air-conditioning and spare blankets if needed. The rooms are a bit dark, but this is mainly due to the proximity of other buildings and the use of dark colours for the curtains, floor tiles and bedding. I would suggest the curtains and bedding are replaced with a lighter colour to brighten up the rooms. The bathroom was great with lots of towels and a powerful hot shower, but bring your own hairdryer if you have anything but very short hair. There are some sachets of body wash but we used our own as we didn’t want to contribute to more packaging rubbish. A dispenser which can be refilled would be more environmentally friendly. The staff were always very helpful and friendly, and they allowed us to store our luggage on our last day until we left for the airport. The breakfast room was small and a bit crowded; the breakfast consisted of a filled croissant, cereals, bread, meats, cheeses, yoghurt and fruits. Again, it would be great if the hotel could reduce its use of individual wrapped portions of jam, honey, yoghurt etc. The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring Naples and beyond as it’s a short 4-5 min walk to the metro station and there are lots of options for places to eat close by. Overall, would recommend this no frills but clean and safe hotel as a base for exploring the city as well as Pompeii, Herculaneum and Vesuvius. Would come again!

A good spacious room with an air conditioning that does work properly. Located close to the center of the old center which is nice. Price-wise this is value for money which is a good thing. However… the breakfast room is very small and there was not always room to sit. Also the breakfast itself was very very basic. Oh, and only one croissant a person, which you have to ask yourself for. Watch out with parking your car. There is a valet parking in the street which charges 30 euros a night. We asked at the hotel counter for an alternative and they knew a man with his own valet service. At the end we parked for three days with this guy and he charged us 120 euros in the end. He didn’t speak English and I don’t speak Italian but that certainly was not the deal we had made. So better park in that garage down the street. The English of the persons behind the counter (the younger guy really did his best and was very friendly) is not the best but we managed alright. Also our room did have no window but that did not bother me.

Modern rooms with a simple style in an ideal location near the old quarter. On the down side the rooms are a bit lacking in natural light & the breakfast room is on the small side. On the positive side the staff were very friendly & helpful. The rooms are well maintained ,clean & with good air conditioning. It’s a perfectly adequate place to stay on a short trip to the city . We’d certainly use it again.
