The Best Western Plaza in Naples is in a convenient location; has clean, comfortable rooms; serves a good, reasonably priced breakfast in a pretty, roof top breakfast room; and has friendly, helpful staff. You need to specify that you want a street facing room, or you might end up in a dark, air shaft room with an abysmal view. This is a Best Western. Do not expect luxury. It is clean, serviceable, and friendly. We have stayed there twice, twelve years apart, and will return upon our next trip to Naples.
Naples is a lovely city full of character. We stayed at the Best Western which was close to amenities and the train station. Rooms were comfortable and clean, staff were very friendly, warm and helpful. We had cannelloni and dessert at Mimi’s on the first night we arrived which was delicious! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, felt safe and everyone we met were happy to help despite us knowing very little Italian.
I desired to use points for 2 of the three nights of my stay. I had troubles doing this online. I was verbally assured by the person answering the phone that they would be able to fix the reservation on my arrival. They reneged on the promise. The motel while clean is in a less than desireable area and I would not have stayed here if it weren't for the intent to save some money by using points, The front desk staff were curt and unfriendly on several other occasions as well.
The hotel was a great value, clean, nice room for my family’s one night stay before flying back to the USA. The area was not very nice but I felt safe and secure in the hotel. Breakfast was not extensive but priced low. Front desk staff were pleasant and helpful.
I use BW all the time. This BW is in a terrible neighborhood, has not parking or place to park to unload your car, has lighting issues, heating cooling issues. It is clean. The staff ripped me off on a taxi situation they ordered for me. ( they collected the $$$$ at the front desk for the hotel)
Before you read my comment you need to understand that I have stayed in many hotels all over the world from very luxury to very poor ones. The hotel culture in Italy isn't good in my point of view. Usually you get less for you money. I can not say that our stay was unpleasant as we stayed for 5 days. The hotel has the basics, is clean, the personal are friendly, but sometimes stubborn, the breakfast is good especially for a folk that does not have breakfast at all in their culture, but it's every day the same so not variation in the breakfast. The rooms are small, we booked superior room with kingsize bed. Well believe me the room wasn't "superior" and the bed wasn't kingsize at all. You will read that many people, including myself, are negative about the neighborhoud. This is true, you need to realize that you are staying in a poor part of Napoli and a lot of immigrantes are hanging all day long in front of the hotel, smoking weed. As long as you stay on the main streets till the Centrale Station nothing will happen. At least nothing did happen to us. But yes the street view is not qualitative. The immigrants didn't spoke to us, didn't intimidate us, unlike in Paris were it can get ugly...…
It was tricky to find, as the entrance faces a small side street. Our cab driver who dropped us off told us the hotel is good, but the neighborhood isn’t, and he was correct. The hotel itself was fine, other than the room being very hot with no way to run the fan without adding more heat. The area was far too noisy to leave the window open and still be able to sleep. Overall, it’s a comfortable spot with helpful staff. Just be careful of the neighborhood when you’re out at night.
Hotel is hard to find. Most people don't know it as a Best Western. Most refer to it as the Hotel Plaza. It has a green awning over the door. Across from a busy nearby square. Hotel itself was clean and front desk speaks English and were helpful. Buffet Breakfast wasn't bad for $5 Euros. Nice view on the rooftop. Beds and pillows were very hard. Area somewhat dicey and noisy, but the room was quiet the bathroom had a small shower, but adequate.
We stayed in Best Western Napoli for about 3 weeks. We didn´t have breakfast included, which we checked on the first day by asking this to the reception. One day we asked if it was possible to have breakfast there 1x since we wanted to leave early to visit Capri. This was possible, we just had to give our room number to the breakfast staff the next morning, which we did. In the end of our stay, we had breakfast there about 4 times, for the same reason. When checking out, we had to be very quick since the taxi was already waiting on us. When we were in the taxi on our way to the airport, I saw that they charged us breakfast for ALL days. It was too late already to turn around. Now the hotel is not answering any of our emails. We payed breakfast for almost 3 weeks, which is just not right, and to me they are just a bunch of scammers.. Just be aware when checking out and make sure the bill is right before leaving.…
The evening/night front desk person, GianFranco, was very helpful. He gave us recommendations of restaurants near the hotel, and helped us with confirmation pickup time of our bus tours. Location of hotel is excellent, it is within walking distance to Napoli Centrale train station where we came into Naples. The local immediate area could be a little intimidating, especially in the evening/night, but it is probably still quite safe as we had not experienced any difficulties in our 2 nights there. The room was comfortable, adequate towels, and breakfast was good and food well replenished. Room had a small fridge.
