Just got back from an excellent 4 day stay at La Gemma in Naples. Gemma was friendly and super-helpful from the moment we booked and gave us some great tips on enjoying Naples when we first arrived. The B&B is 100 metres from a Metro station so a great base to explore Naples. It is also very close to the historic centre of the city with plentiful pizzerias and restaurant nearby. The room was very clean, well-equipped and comfortable and the breakfast was generous and delicious. I would wholeheartedly recommend La Gemma as an excellent base for a trip to Naples. Gemma is the sweetest host. She helped orient us to the area and drew on a map some interesting places that were convenient to walk to. The location is on a huge square in a busy area, but we didn’t hear noise at night. It was central to many restaurants and shops of all kinds, as well as a nice walk down to the Bay of Naples. The room and bathroom we had were immaculate. Gemma provided a long list of breakfast options which she diligently prepared each morning. We certainly had everything we needed for a pleasant and comfortable stay. There is an elevator that takes you up three flights, but you will have to carry your luggage up one more, as the B&B is on a rooftop.

La Gemma is just around the corner from the historic centre of Naples and a Metro station, so very handy for sights and restaurants. It is in the rooftop area of a grand old building, and there are a lot of grand stone stairs to climb - fortunately most (but not all) can be avoided by taking the rather historic lift. Gemma welcomed us with a comprehensive briefing about Naples, including restaurants recommendations, and a map of the city on which she marked in various points of interest. Breakfast was very good, and the room was extremely comfortable.

My boyfriend and I stayed at La Gemma for one night and it was our first stop in Italy. Gemma was very communicative with us leading up to our stay, helping us arrange an airport transfer and answering any questions we had. When we arrived, she was waiting for us and welcomed us with a cold beverage. She gave us great sightseeing tips for Naples and we took many of her suggestions, which helped us have a great experience in the city. The B&B itself was charming and our room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was delicious! I would recommend La Gemma to anyone passing through Naples.

Gemma’s place has been one of the best that we’ve stayed. First of all, the communication with the host was very professional and helpful, she is always there to greed you. She recommend us a great tour to Pompeii and other good local restaurants. The room and the bathroom was spotless, and she really goes above and beyond your expectations. Clean bedsheets and pillows. Good lighting and working AC. The location was perfect, few steps from the metro station that takes you to Napoli céntrale. We highly recommend this place when you visit Napoli.

Strávili sme v apartmáne La Gemma 4 dni. Lokalizácia apartmánu je úžasná, na námestí Piazza Dante, z jednej strany je španielska štvrť, z druhej strany historické centrum. Avšak najväčším triumfom apartmánu je samotná Gemma. Príjemná, srdečná, pohostinná, vždy usmiata. Doporučujem tento apartmán mojimi všetkými dvadsiatimi prstami. Keď ešte niekedy pôjdem do Neapolu, tak jedine do La Gemma We spent 4 days in "La Gemma" apartment. The location is amazing, on the square Piazza Dante, on one side is the Spanish quarter, on the other side the historic center. However, the greatest triumph of the apartment is Gemma herself. What a lovely little B&B. Only has 5 room, all private en suite. Tea/coffee in rooms and in the lounge area. Our room had air conditioning and was very nicely finished with a lovely bathroom. it all looks very recently refurbished. We had a very warm welcome from the owners, who spent time with us telling us lots about the area and gave us some excellent recommendations for local restaurants etc. Only things to be aware of are 1. it is is on the 4th floor of a building accessed through a cobbled courtyard. There is a lift that goes up to level 3 but there are still 20-30 steps after that which might be problematic for some. 2. Being top floor, there are skylight windows, so no views (although most would not expect much of a view in a historic old town area). All in all a very clean, tidy, well presented B&B with a lovely owner…

The experience at La Gemma was great! The cozy environment , kind staff and excellent location (very close to metro Line 1) made our stay really special. The room was spacious, bed was super confortable and breakfast was delicious. We will come back for sure!
