First things first - call the hotel and tell them you want to leave your luggage at the dock with the porters when you first arrive. It's $15 euro a bag but when you see the way up and the cobblestone streets up top you...More
My fiancé and I stayed at Hotel Mamela for a couple of days before attending a friend's wedding in Amalfi. The hotel was beautiful and well located. Francesco at the front desk went above and beyond to help us find a room when we decided...More

The position is perfect as the Island is small , we loved that mamela was just out of the main hustle and bustle of the square but a 5 min walk to the main piazza and two min to the nearest restaurant.

We did not fly into Capri. Instead we took a boat from the mainland as part of an extended trip. I do not recall seeing an airport on Capri, but I might have missed it. What I recall was people flying into Naples and then taking a high speed ferry to Capri. If that is the case, then one would have a cab ride from the Naples airport to the port, then the cost of the ferry, then maybe a cab or whatever from the Capri port to the center of the city.
