We went for just one night in mid-September, leaving our hotel in Positano, to do it. La Minerva is in high demand, so book very early. We had a room on their lower floor, which still had a view of the sea from our private...More
I can totally understand why this hotel is listed as #1 and won Trip Advisor 2012. We spent 3 wonderful days there at the end of September and from the moment we arrived at the dock to the time we left, we cannot say enough...More
My husband and I spent the first 3 nights of our Italian honeymoon at La Minerva and we were so happy and delighted with the hotel, the staff and the service. The hotel itself is very beautiful; all rooms are simply decorated but very clean...More

I agree with Brian M. that day trips are a hassle. Best to spend 4 nights in one spot, as each town offers lovely hikes and views. I have been to Capri 10+ times, most recently for a full week. There is plenty to do there, if you like to walk. Positano is fun for no more than 2 days. I love Calabria: Monopoli, Lecce, Alberobello. Unlike the Amalfi Coast, Calabria is a region in which you can stay at one place and make day trips as long as you have a car. The drive from Naples is about 2 hours and easy, and the Bari airport is a good hub.
