The welcome was very friendly. Andy and Leslie are simply very nice people. The room is very spacious as well as your private bathroom. We could use the garden and the living room and all of that felt very welcome. Everything is clean and neat. We had to extend our stay with one more night and that was possible, despite...

First class overall despite separate bathroom. Breakfast not for those on a diet - fully recommended! Very obliging hosts, just remember it is slightly challenging to find in the dark. No hesitation in returning in the future. Go there!

We've had a wonderful time this weekend celebrating my husbands 40th birthday, the house is stunning, clean and spacious, it's so warm and cosy we didn't want to go out! The welcome from the hosts was perfect with unexpected personal touches to make our stay more memorable! Breakfast was fabulous and first class, really tasty and hot! We will not...

We had a wonderful friendly welcome even though we were later arriving than anticipated. Our bedroom was beautiful, overlooking the gorgeous garden and very comfortable. Our hosts recommended a lovely English pub for a carvery and made the booking for us. Breakfast was excellent in a beautiful dining room very tastefully decorated. Very convenient for the Channel Tunnel. Will definitely...

Stayed at the Old Barn and were not disappointed. We were in the twin room overlooking the garden, which was lovely. The whole place was immaculate and tastefully decorated. Breakfasts were in the lovely olde-worlde dining room and were beautifully cooked. Our hosts, Leslie and Andrew, were there but "not in our faces" all the time. We were given advice...

Our first time at The Old Barn and both Leslie & Andrew have ensured we will return. Our "room" consisted of a fully fitted kitchen, lounge, bedroom and bathroom with quadrant shower. Our breakfast was delivered in our room and to our table. The service we received was second to none. This was more of an annexe than a room...

If one thing can be said about this B&B it's flexibility. We changed our arrival time several times and even a breakfast earlier than anticipated wasn't a problem. Slewing of the twin beds was easily done. In all respects good value for money and we will certainly come back if we are near for whatever reason. It was our third...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Forget the Inns next to motorways. Instead enjoy the countryside and stay near Tenterden at the 4**** Bethersden Old Barn bed and breakfast - a Grade 2 listed converted 18th century listed Kentish Barn. There are plenty of exposed beams and original features, the beds are "really comfortable" (so our guests say) and the breakfasts “simply delicious”. We are founder members of the “Kent Breakfast” scheme guaranteeing the majority of our produce is local. The Old Barn Bed and Breakfast is situated near Tenterden, just on the edge of Bethersden village, right in the heart of the "Darling buds of May country". It is a great central base for visiting all the local sights and is convenient for both Eurostar at Ashford, Eurotunnel at Folkestone and the sea crossings at Dover. It's only 37 minutes into central London from Ashford International station, or our local station, Pluckley is only 3 miles. Incidentally, Pluckley is the most haunted village in the UK. Sissinghurst's famous gardens and Scotney and Bodiam Castles (all National Trust) are a short drive, the coast and historic Canterbury a little further. Tenterden (5 miles) offers good shopping and the Kent and Sussex Steam Railway. We have several country pubs close by, The Bull at the top of the hill (approx 350 yards) and The George pub in the village centre (approx 800 yards). Bethersden has a Post Office/Shop, local butcher and a hairdresser. Major supermarkets, restaurants and shops are in Ashford and Tenterden. We have a 1 luxury twin with private facilities and 1 double (actually a 4 roomed luxury suite) available. ... more   less
