The Hotel Las Arenas Balneario Resort comes highly recommended for its cleanliness and meticulous maintenance, with many guests applauding the housekeeping staff. Service at the resort is often praised, with the team noted for their professionalism and attention to detail. While opinions on the atmosphere are mixed, the resort's beachfront location is consistently celebrated for its scenic views and convenience.
Room experiences vary, with commendations for cleanliness and views tempered by remarks on dated decor. The value proposition is debated, as some guests find additional charges for Wi-Fi and other services to be excessive. Amenities are well-regarded, though critiques of Wi-Fi quality and spa accessibility persist.

Detailed Reviews
This is a very good hotel. Much larger than the usual hotels we stay in but it still managed to provide very good quality snd service.
The hotel itself is quite spread out but the main benefit is it’s location which is right on the south end of the Malvarossa beach next to the marina.
We spend most of the time on the beach so didn’t really use many of the hotel facilities.
We had an executive room on floor 4 which was very well appointed. Plenty of cupboard space and amenities plus nice balcony overlooking the sea.
Very well maintained and cleanliness excellent.
Our rate included breakfast which is well worth it. Excellent choice available of mostly very good quality food.
The staff throughout the hotel are very good indeed. Particularly the breakfast staff but a special mention to Mabel and the concierge team. They sorted out some amazing restaurants for us during our stay.
The hotel has a well kitted out gym.
It has a massive adult only pool on a mezzanine and a smaller kids pool on ground level.
There aren’t enough beds available around the adult pool and there are loads around the kids pool.
No issue for us as we used neither.
We did however use the pool bar on our way back from the beach a couple of times. We sat right next to the bar. The first occasion we had very attentive service and had several drinks as a result.
The second occasion we were ignored for 15 minutes while staff chatted. When we left without ordering I sarcastically said thanks and the waitress said your welcome. They genuinely had realised we hadn’t been served.
Anyhow we did not return, actually not because of that but due to the genuinely shocking music they play by the pool.
It was the worst playlist I’ve ever heard.
The only other minor negative comment is I’m surprised the hotel hasn’t made any arrangements for a beach club or sun beds?
You can take your towels and hire beds from a number of providers though.
It’s probably a touch pricey at €400+ which is why I’ve gone with very good rather than excellent.
Had a great time and would not hesitate in returning.

we stayed in the hotel in feb 20 after a few days in the majestic in barcelona and while the hotel location is second to none we found the service a bit hit and miss.
the rooms are excellent as is the spa and all the pools etc but the restaurant had a habit of changing routines depending on how busy it was for breakfast.
for example of the first day we were encouraged to avail of the good weather on the terrace but a few days later (when they were not so busy) you were not allowed on the terrace. By the last day even the freshly squeezed orange juicing machine had left the building.
we did have 2 meals in the evening which were excellent

Las Arenas Balneario Resort has a perfect location at the waterfront, and it has a great overall standard. But also a bit sterile. I would get bored if I stayed a week.
Rooms are nice (though not very big), especially the bathrooms are fine. Nice balcony and view, good bed and silent aircondition.
It was a nuisance, that the lights on the balcony can’t be switched off (they are switched off collectively at midnight), and I was missing a brush to clean the toilet myself.
First night I slept with open door, but even if I was staying in 3. Floor, I got many mosquito bites during my sleep. Can’t blame the hotel, but now you are warned.
To my knowledge, the hotel was too slack with cleaning of doorhandles, elevator buttoms etc. in regard to Covid-19.
Kind staff, but too many serving guests spoke no or little English.
Breakfast was excellent, just missing the option of ordering an omelet.

We just spent 5 nights here with our three boys aged 6, 8 and 10. There are many good things about the hotel: our first room smelled of cigarette smoke, we told the staff and they took us seriously and changed our room right away. The housekeeping staff are extremely friendly and efficient, their cleaning and service is excellent. Overall it is an efficient place.
The place seems to be more set up for business people than tourists, even during the half term holiday when there were quite a few families. There was one restaurant open, which was rather formal and a bar that served crisps and olives, nothing in between. In a five star place, I’d expect a cafe or bar serving snacks / tapas etc like the Melia chain seems to do so well. There was a lack of understanding in the formal restaurant of what vegetarian is. In 2020, in a 5 star hotel, I would expect there would be dishes on the menu.
The indoor swimming pool is functional but dated, little tiles missing here and there, and you have to walk right through the pool reception to get back to the showers and changing rooms. Spa not included for hotel guests, it was €23 per adult for about two hours. The outdoor pool looks nice (it’s open from about April).
The alternative to the formal restaurant is room service. The quality is good but prices are steep at €17 for a hotdog with chips. So you need to go out of the hotel to find better dining options. There are many, so this is not a problem.
The hotel is located at the beach, near the port end. It is fine. There are nicer beaches about 1km further up, which is an easy walk.
All in all, we liked it as a base to use to see the city, but would probably not come again as it’s more geared to business travellers. It could be that in summer it is more holiday-like, but out of season it has a distinctly business only feel.

As many reviews already confirmed, staff is very attentive, friendly and professional.
From the moment you walk into the grand lobby you feel welcome!
The facilities (spa, pool etc) are great.
The location is good (although the surrounding area needs some urgent renewal), close to the beach and not too far from the city center by bus, taxi ar even a long walk.
BUT: the rooms are dated and worn. Urgent TLC necessary!!!
The bathroom was large enough but designed it such a way that makes really inconvenient. Taking a shower was an unpleasant experience, or even a frustrating one, the shower is so small that you can't move at all without bumping your elbow or accidentally closing the tab.
The rooms need to be updated and modernised urgently as the aren't reflecting what you pay nor what a modern traveler would expect or what a business traveler needs today.
Cleaning staff is very friendly and the room is serviced at least 2 times a day, making sure the rooms are clean.
Non alcoholic drinks in the minibar are free on the executive floor but all the rest (alcohol, snacks) extremely expensive. Not sure why the 4th floor is called executive floor. The rooms have the best view but the smallest balconies. There is no executive lounge nor different - executive - amenities compared the other rooms.
All by all we had a nice stay but not a 5-star experience, definitely no 5* GL!
Unless the rooms will be refurbished, I doubt we would return soon.
I see that all reviews receive a standard reply. Hopefully management wakes up and decides to do something with these reviews ...

Average and expensive hotel. We would not go back.
Pros: great pool (when there is space); large terraces for some rooms with sea view and sun loungers; bell boys provide excellent service; huge comfortable bed. We booked this place because, as far as I am aware, it is the only hotel in Valencia with a big pool and we wanted to relax.
Cons: rooms are dated (especially the bathroom) and our room smelled of smoke; wifi does not work; not enough space around the pool so unless you are early you have to sit by the childrens’ pool; noisy in the corridors in the morning; breakfast is hit and miss - if there is space on the front terrace, it is lovely - if you are at the back it feels like a 2/3 star hotel; when we wanted to have evening drinks, some seats outside were closed for no reason (not covid related) even though there was not enough space for guests; food and drink is low quality (eg cocktails just tasted like sugar syrup and margarita pizza like children’s food); we paid for the spa but some of the facilities were not working
This hotel could be great if these issues were resolved. We would have raised this when we checked out however the person serving us didn’t even ask how our stay was (even though I had just paid almost 2000 euros for 4 nights)

Over the years we have stayed a number of times here. The only thing that has gone up is the price, which quite frankly is ridiculous for a hotel of this standard. Yes, it has the view, but there it ends.
The rooms are small, and are becoming very dated even on our 4th floor superior and showing their age, especially in the bathrooms.
To call this 5 star is gilding the lily.
Service was variable standard, and many didn't seem to care. Perhaps a post covid legacy.
Paper cups and plastic beakers were standard, but we did manage to get them replaced, only to have them removed on day 3. To give a coffee maker with 1 pod coffee and 1pod decaf is ludicrous. Do the management believe married couples can be delineated this way? Even basic hotels in Spain have kettles with tea, coffee etc. They did agree to give us a kettle, but if we wanted tea bags we would have to pay for them!
Basically, this previously good hotel is sinking into a money grabbing venture luxuring on previous high standards.
Management (and some staff) need a firm shake up.

My daughter and I travelled to this hotel for a mother/daughter celebration of her 40 th birthday. Upon arrival we were very impressed and continued to be impressed during our 4 day stay with the exception of one incident that greatly upset us. I should firstly say that the hotel, grounds, facilities and food were faultless. The hotel is right on the most stunning beach with lovely restaurants nearby and a beautiful pool area. The problem arose when we enquired about the use of shower facilities due to our very late flight back to London. We were told we could book an hour slot for shower facilities which we did. My experience with 5* hotels has always been that in these circumstances the hotel either let you use the spa facilities or they have a room dedicated for this use. NOT IN THIS CASE. We were directed to an overgrown area with a rusty old door that led into a room with a toilet and a shower. There was no air conditioning and the heat in the room was excessive. There was also no hairdryer. The floor was dirty and actually unacceptable. We showered because we had no choice. We did not wash our hair but it was wet and stuck to our heads because of the heat ( it was about 34 degrees outside). Clearly once you have checked out of this hotel they do not need to keep up the 5* treatment! By the time we emerged into the foyer to wait for our taxi we were both dripping wet and we actually would have been better off had we not bothered with a shower! The concierge provided us with a hairdryer which we had to plug at the open door way of the communal toilet facilities as that was the only power point! This was a very disappointing end to an otherwise perfect trip!

This Hotel was amazing, it was in a perfect location for relaxing by the beach but also not too far from most central sights. The hotel was very clean, extremely comfortable with the most helpful staff. Breakfast was excellent with a very large choice of buffet or specially cooked food. The pool areas were very good and beautiful soft, large pool towels were provided. Rooms were well appointed with excellent little touches. Water provided each day and all the toiletries you could need. I will return

+1
It was a very comfortable and leisurely experience from the housekeepers, wait staff, reception, doormen, concierge, host and hostesses, and reception. Concierge, wait staff, just and hostesses all spoke English making communication easy.
Housekeepers kept the rooms extremely clean and would often check in to see if we needed more coffee, water, or anything. Reception desk staff were very accommodating and easy to work with.
The only downsides we found are the commission of exchanging money and lack of ice for the rooms. Save the commission fee and get it exchange at any of the money exchanges aground town. Ice was not readily available for the room and had to be ordered through room service (charging €6).
The motel is located along the beach with beach access and many places to eat close by if wanting a variety. We reserved the Execute room on the 4th floor with beach view and complimentary spa. The Sowa staff was also very accommodating and spoke English.
Overall, an extremely pleasurable experience and will most likely be back. This is a place where understanding Spanish is not a must. Most speak English.

They seem updated and current. They are very stylish.
Yep. 100% has heating. Hot or cold air con unit for example.
Don’t think Valencia gets cold anyway. Heat from the hotel will be plenty.
