Loved this little hotel which admittedly needs a lick of paint but was so central, clean & friendly. We were lucky enough to get a balcony room which had nices views. Great little Spanish restaurant few doors away will def revisit. You can wake to beach or main centre, most perfect beach.

This 3 star hotel is well placed about 20 minutes walk from the Plaza de La Reina and the Plaza del Ayuntamiento in the old town. The decor is a bit tired but it is clean and the reception staff are incredibly helpful and pleasant. Breakfast is a modest but tasty continental buffet which is maintained to an immaculate state by a number of very cheerful and friendly ladies - coffee is good too. There aren't many dining opportunities nearby but Bar Cremaet just up the road a little way is really nice (and gets very busy) and CervecerĆa Tapis is more modest but also close by. Conveniently located for the number 4 and 92 buses that go towards the beach.

We had a room at the front of the hotel so there was some traffic noise, but it did not disturb us.
The fridge was very useful, but a kettle and cups for tea and coffee would have made a tremendous difference to our stay..
The room was very hot, especially at night.
The room was very clean, and the en suite shower room but it is all looking a little tired and could use some updating.
The staff on reception were polite but not particularly friendly.
The walk to the centre of town takes about 20 to 25 minutes, which can be tiring if you walk around the sights as well!
There are three good supermarkets within a short walking distance

The staff has been amazing the whole time, especially Elena and Isabel.
They helped me with my reservation and suggested me nice places to go to.
the rooms are cleaned every day and the towels are also changed every day
The position of the hotel is good, 10 minutes from the city of arts and science and in the street that leads you directly to the port. You can move easily with the buses. At the hotel you can rent a bike for the whole day for only 12ā‚¬.
They have a 24/7 reception.
I had a very good experience

What a brilliant stay. All the staff especially the reception and dining room went above and beyond eepctations. Very helpful, nothing too much trouble and happy to answer any questions you may have. Situated equidistant between 2 Metro stops, the area is more modern and has a few supermarkets within walking distance. There are also several restaurants nearby, Chinese, Spanish, Italian etc. There is a bus stop almost outside the Hotel that serves the beach, number 92 and only about 25 minutes. Although the aircon wasn't working, it didn't affect my stay or my opinion of the hotel. I have booked to stay there again and look forward to the same great service

Third time I have stayed here and it won't be there last!
The staff are really helpful and friendly. The rooms are comfortable and clean.
The park and city of arts and ciences are a short walk away, the beach is about 15 minutes away on the 92 bus which stops just outside the front door. There are supermarkets and restaurants along the av. Del port so anything you need is in easy reach.
Breakfast is a selection of continental and cereals,
I hired a bike for 3 days direct from the hotel which allows you to explore further afield, you can also store your bike in the hotel garage which is safe overnight.
A friendly convenient clean comfortable place to stay when you are in Valencia!

I stayed at the Villacarlos in early May 2022 for eight days. My holiday was originally intended for April 2020, but the pandemic necessitated my having to postpone four or five times. A big thank you to the hotel for being so flexible with what was originally a non-amendable booking. Businesses which treated their customers well over Covid deserve recognition and customer loyalty for that.
The hotel is on a tree-lined avenue just over a mile from the city centre; the walk into the city is very attractive, and the trees and Mediterranean vegetation in Turia park are superb.
The hotel is clean and comfortable. Breakfasts have a good range of foods. Elena and all the other staff treat guests as individuals, and are helpful and courteous. The hotel is reasonably priced, and is an excellent base for any tourist or traveller who wishes to explore Valencia and the surrounding region. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

Black Mould everywhere in the bathroomā€¦.which would literally take no time to clean away with a drop of bleachā€¦makes me worry about how well rooms are cleaned during covid times. ā€¦.lights in ceiling looked like they had had smoke come out of them at some stage as ceiling was black around themā€¦.. view of dead space in middle of the hotel with a brick wall and pipes. Rooms dark and I wouldnā€™t have liked to have shone a blue light anywhere round the room. ..! In real need of an update and some fresh paint.
Pillows very flatā€¦and no extra pillows. Ordered a double roomā€¦and got 2 beds on wheels pushed togetherā€¦that migrated across the floor with any movement. Not exactly great for a romantic break away.
Breakfast was nice though. And staff in breakfast room were really lovely.
Disappointed as this was a British Airways holiday which described sumptuous rooms. Anything butā€¦!

Liked Ā· The hotel was quiet and in a nice location (walking distance to coffee shops, restaurants, and also the arts and science museum. The selection of breakfast was also decent.

Disliked Ā· My room was looking out on the to a tall rectangular courtyard, closed in by other rooms... which meant my room was pretty dull/dark. I was also really disappointed at breakfast based on the fact I was stopped leaving with a plain roll and butter - I was feeling a little poorly and I wanted to bring something small back to the room to eat over the course of the next couple of hours. I was literally chased out the door of the breakfast room and made put my roll back.

It is a slightly dated hotel but clean and well maintained. Abundant breakfast with a wide choice. Good quality/price ratio. It is located a little outside the historic center but easily reachable on foot (1-1.5 km) or by bus (stop 150 meters away). A little further away (about 15 minutes on foot) is the metro stop that connects to the airport.
