The Hotel Helen Berger is only a few months old. It was formerly an apartment building. The renovation is wonderful. The hotel interior is very modern and functional but not cold or stark. The design is very pleasing. We have only standard rooms. They are standard European size which are small. The bathrooms are surprisingly spacious with large comfortable marble lines showers with just the most wonderful fittings and comfort. Our rooms all have a small balcony, enough to hold a couple or three people. Th restaurant is wonderful. The included breakfast offer a choice of local items and American breakfast items. Many choices and one from. Each of the five or six sections. You can mix and match and coffee and juice are included. Not issue of wanting more of anything. The restaurant also offers an international mix of food and a prix-fixe lunch. It is very popular with the local business lunch crowd. Prices are extremely reasonable with the utmost in excellent service. The hotel is excellent in the service aspect. The staff from desk to restaurant to housekeeping so a wonderful job. There is pride and joy reflected in the way they interact with people. It is well run. The rooms are super clean and orderly. Everything works and all details are covered. I should particularly mention about Catarina and Victoria at the front office. Their genuinely caring and high service attitude is most amazing. They make this hotel a special place and a special place to return to. They have been wonderful with restaurant recommendations and with providing direction and with various cultural details about Valencia and Spain. They are special people any hotel would only dream to have.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights and could have stayed longer - there is more in Valencia than effectively a two full day visit. The rooms are really nice and spotless and the hotel is in a quiet location under 10 minutes walk from the Cathedral and River Park. We ate breakfast at the hotel which was good and took two evening meals there. A very good standard of service and cooking. Would heartily recommend.

The design theme for the rooms is plain and elegant with little over-design (projecting bedside lamps to knock against). Not much storage space even for one person. The room safe is large enough for A4 files. Wifi worked with only brief interruptions, though those may have been my iPad or VPN.

l had a balcony room. Balconies are small, though you could just fit a chair on them. On the 4th floor l could look partly over the building opposite - on lower floors the view opposite would be a wall. l was on the side street (Carrer de la Nau) and could look sideways along the narrow street to the plazas at each end.

The air conditioning system is effective though it can take a while for the room to become cool. The fan is silent (though from the ceiling there was sometimes a dripping or knocking from somewhere in the system).

Good shower in large bright bathroom with its own doors to balcony (room 405; looking at the floorplan l think that most bathrooms are internal; a few bedrooms have two balconies).

Efficient same-day laundry service on weekdays at reasonable prices.

Breakfast is a good choice of dishes served at your table: tea/coffee, fruit juice/smoothie, toast and for example avocado, fruit salad, cake.

Efficient pleasant staff with good English.

Perfecto! Very nice! Lovely.

Very beautiful design

Very tasty restaurant

Very nice staff, Everything is very clean.

Cons almost not found.

Unless the room service starts cleaning the neighboring rooms early in the morning and does it so loudly that it is no longer possible to sleep.

In one word, quality.
We travel a lot to Valencia and have stayed in many hotels across the city but this place stands out form the rest. From the moment you arrive you can just feel the quality and the professionalism of the way the place is ran.
Check in is slick and quick in the lobby area of the bar/restaurant.
The rooms can only be described as perfect, every little detail has been thought about from somebody who obviously knows how to design a hotel.
From the carpet in the corridors to the doors that are impossible to slam (a national sport in Spain) it all makes such a difference to provide a peaceful and relaxing stay.
Full marks for cleanliness and as for the bed I would happily live in it !
The bar and restaurant get full marks too, well worth using. Laid back but very attentive and the food is good as is the wine list.
We have found out new go to place on our regular visits to the amazing city that is Valencia. Keep up the good work !!

The Hotel Helen Berger is in the old town of Valencia a short distance from the main places of interest for tourists like the central market, the cathedral and the silk exchange. It is easy to get from the airport using the metro with the nearest station being Colon, a short walk from the hotel. The hotel is also close to bus stops that can take you down to the main beaches.

The hotel has a nice bar area that is popular with residents and non-residents.

We had a room at the side of the hotel so the view was of an old building next door, with not a lot of natural light. There are rooms that face onto the street at the front of the hotel Las Comedias, which will have more light.

The rooms that we stayed in were a reasonable size for a short stay, nicely decorated and the double bed was comfortable. In room 207 there is no room to hang long items. In Room 208 there is a space to hang long items such as a dress or a coat. There is sufficient space to store a few days clothes.

The bathroom had a good shower and was well equipped.

In the main room there is a smart TV with the ability to log into your own Netflix and Amazon Prime accounts, along with the usual TV channels.

There is a desk area in front of the television, however there are no usable plugs/sockets in this space, which is a problem if you want to spend much time on a lap top. By the bed on both sides there are socket and USB charging points. In the room there is a blue tooth speaker which is better than the usual portable ones. There is free wifi.

Breakfast is very good and reasonably priced with a range of cooked and non-cooked products all brought to the table. Coffee is made by a barista and not just straight out of a machine.

In the evening the bar offers tapas and more substantial food. It is reasonably priced.

The staff in the hotel are friendly. Most have a reasonable level of English and are very tolerant of attempts to speak Spanish.

On our first evening the staff were very persistent at finding us a restaurant booking at a nearby place, despite Valencia being very busy that weekend.

I would highly recommend a stay in this hotel and looking forward to returning when I come back to Valencia.

Helen Bergen is a hotel with a very sophisticated style. The rooms and the hotel lobby are designed with an elegant touch of velvet soft pastels. The location is absolutely great and the atmosphere overall fits a very romantic getaway. We’ve enjoyed having dinner there one night and also a breakfast. Food is also highly recommended. The rooms are slightly smaller than expected unless you specifically mention the size you prefer.

We really enjoyed our stay - the location was great for exploring the city, close to Colon metro, and the staff on reception were very helpful with maps etc. The hotel seemed new and very clean - the bed was vast and comfortable, the sofa bed was great for our son and he loved the kids set of toiletries in the bathroom. Reception also gave him stickers and a colouring kit, which was very thoughtful. I enjoyed the addition of hair straighteners and a selection of books on design and architecture. The breakfast was nice - lots of good options, healthy and otherwise, but could be consolidated into less sections for ease.

We had a 3 night stay to enjoy the Helen Berger Hotel, and were highly satisfied with every aspect.

The hotel is new and very clean throughout, our room was spacious with a large and comfy bed. Bathroom was also large and modern with a walk-in shower. Don’t be surprised with the absence of toiletries or a duvet, due to the pandemic you have to request them at the reception. The air conditioning in the room was quiet and strong.

The hotel team is welcoming, helpful and people-orientated. The reception staff is multilingual in case you don’t speak Spanish or English.

Guests can make bike rentals with a nearby service through reception. We had some issues with the bike rental, but Lena and Sveta were more than helpful and professional to solve them.

The restaurant is a must try! They serve Asian fusion cuisine with a good seafood options. Delightful food and warm service. We haven’t tried breakfast but we are sure it is substantial, and worth trying.

The hotel is quiet, and is situated in the historical center near to numerous restaurants, and within easy walking distance from places of interest. We would definitely come back.

We spent a long weekend in Valencia, staying three nights at the Helen Berger Hotel, and had an excellent experience there. Every single staff member, from the front desk personnel to the servers at the lobby restaurant/bar to housekeeping was extremely pleasant and helpful. All of them, also, were conversant in both Spanish and English. Rodrigo, one of the servers, was especially delightful.

Our room was comfortable, with an ample-sized bed and Juliet balcony, and had a very modern, updated bathroom with an especially large shower.

The restaurant/bar at the hotel is clearly very popular with both hotel guests and others not staying at the hotel.

The location of Helen Berger was extremely convenient - a walk of 10 minutes or less to everywhere we wanted to go in town with the exception of the science and art complex, which is at the other end of town.

Our entire experience at Helen Berger was excellent.
