Breakfast is not what it was pre covid Staff can’t be bothered Scolding hot water in shower followed by cold please don’t put children in the shower unattended They cater more now for Spaniards and cyclists Spa is full of adolescence teenagers Screaming kids late at night running down the corridor We have come here 3 times a year both spring and summer it’s just not the same place time to move on
We had a most enjoyable week here in this lovely hotel. The cleanliness could not be faulted and we found staff to be polite and professional yet friendly. Good choice of food for all meals (we were all inclusive) and picnic available if you were going out for the day or had early pick up for the airport. The hotel is very popular with groups of cyclists, who are catered for well but we had no issues with these. Well maintained SPA which appears to have won a few awards. We were on the 9th floor with lovely views of the sea and watch for the wonderful sunrises. Would have no hesitation staying here again
I was in the Spa area, I have to say that it was impresive the infranstructure of installations and organization of the hotel at large. I was surprised with the good deals for spa + massage + buffet lunch or dinner . I loved the service. I chose the candle ritual massage. My massage therapist was Carlos, so proffesional, (I had a neck pain, I ended up renew, so relaxed) everything more than perfect. impeccable!! wishing going back again!!
Only "Average" (3/5) not "Very Good" (4/5) Pros : Good Covid precautions - all staff wearing masks. Generally very clean throughout. Bar/ restaurant staff very attentive, friendly and worked very hard. Cons : ATM machine didnt work with Reception staff reluctant to contact merchant with a " not our problem/ responsibilty" attitude. Only relented when I persisted with a 2nd member of staff and took 3 days to put a notice on machine. No toilet brush or bath slip mat in bath. Two used tissues on balcony floor for duration of our stay and partition screen looked like it hadnt been cleaned in a long time. Entertainment (Bingo and karaoke style duo) two nights only and only other bar closed accordingly !? Pool bar ( garden shed ) never opened....apparently opens very end of June ! No kettle in room ....apparently you can request one from Reception ( presumably they have several hundrerd to cover all requests ) but still no tea or coffee available. Paper cups in room - 4 star ?? Small smoking area but chastised if you took a patio chair with you. No Hotel info throughout property just bar code scanner points for meal times, bar prices, etc - ok if your phone has this facility but ours doesnt. Hotel name is misleading....nearest beach is 15mns walk away. Food quality generally good but a bit limited choice some days, particularly veg and rice dishes. In summary I consider this hotel 3 star not 4 star but others may disagree but not the people we spoke to. …
Hotel itself was very good and catered for most of our needs. We changed rooms as we were not happy with the one allocated which was on the main road but this was done with little fuss although they were going to charge us £50 for cleaning the room allocated even though we had only walked in and out of it. Food was the main problem at the hotel. When it was available it was nice but it was obvious that there was a shortage of staff in the catering department. When items were available you had to be quick otherwise you missed out and had to wait for the next batch which could be about 20 minutes later. There were a lot of children in the restaurant with their families but they were seated in the better end where tables had tablecloths. Normal guests had to make do with a paper placemat. On occasions especially at the weekend there was a que to enter the restaurant and although this didn't affect us there were many who had to wait. Bar is good, prices are in line with local bars and the snack we had was delivered quickly and was still hot. It would have been helpful if you could open an account to charge wines, drinks and bar snacks to and then pay on the last day instead of pay as you go. Also on departure some guests were given a breakfast carry-out. We were unaware that this could be ordered so had to wait until arrival at the airport to have breakfast. We were unable to find access to the indoor pool although we didn't wish to use it - were just curious as to what it was like. Maybe access was through the Spa! Unfortunately we didn't get the chance to ask a member of staff on the day we were looking for it as there was a large que at the reception. Outside pool was good with plenty of sunbeds. …
The staff was nice. Breakfast was exelant. The solarium erya is good but there are no service in the garden. You have to stand up and walk to the bar some way. Room was wery clean but interior getting old. Did not use restaurant in the hotel. The coktails in the bar where strange, how they where made. Not like evrywhere else.
Nice hotell, food not to good, but the staff in the restaurant. Terrible. So rude!!! Otherweiss the Hotel is good. Nice staff in the Reception. The ballrom also need more aircondition. Not sure if I would recommand because of the rude staff
I really enjoy my stay at Diamante Hotel. I enjoyed using the spa many times & everything about the hotel was great. Staff were fantastic by providing exceptional customer service. The whole Hotel was very well maintained & cleaned deeply everyday. I only wish that I booked a longer stay!
Stayed at the AR Diamante in May 2022 for 1 week with my wife, 2 year old son and 8 month old daughter in a double room booked through Jet2 holidays. Firstly please be aware of the transfer time to get to the hotel from Alicante airport, whilst nothing to do with the hotel it is worth been aware of it, if travelling with young children. We got a private taxi using Beniconnect and it took a little over 35 minutes to get there, but used the transfer bus on the way back and it took 2 hrs 15 mins. Now for the hotel, whilst the hotel is lovely, very grand reception area, loads of space and extremelly well maintained, it is not really suitable for families in our opinion. The dining room does provide high chairs for the kiddies, but you just get a sense when in the dining room that children are not really welcome. The hotel staff themselves leave you be, other than to clean away your dirty plates etc, it is the rest of the guests that give you a glare if you child dares make a noise. The hotel attracts big groups of people from seemingly the Denmark, Norway, Iceland areas. There was a line dancing group, dance group, multiple cycling groups from these countries all in the hotel at the same time as us and whilst they all sit in their groups, as I say they do make you feel like children are not welcome. In terms of things for the kids to actually do, there is nothing. Not one thing. Now I do believe the peak period doesn't start until June, which in its self seems a little late for me but apparently they do then offer a kids club and some sort of entertainment, however when we travelled there was nothing. The pool area is again lovely and clean but there is 3 small pools, one for the smaller kids I presume, one medium sized and depth and 1 a little bigger and deeper. They are just that though, 3 small pools with nothing for the kids again. I think we were a little shocked at how little there was for the kids at this hotel purely because we booked it via the Jet2 website on the family friendly section. Purposely looking for a hotel that offers families the sort of stay your after, we just expected it to have more. If your looking for a lovely hotel as a couple or group, would have no issues at all in recommending this hotel as I think it would be ideal, just not with small children. That said the beach is literally a 5 minute walk from the hotel and the prom / beach is lovely and again spotlessly clean. The bars along the front of which there are plenty are all lovely, offer reasonably priced food and drinks. Back to the hotel with regards to food and drink - we stayed half board and breakfast was lovely. Lots and lots of choice. Sorry to sound typically English but was nice to have proper sausages for breakfast, other than 2 out of the 6 mornings in which they had little hot dog sausages. We changed our Dinner booking for Lunch as Dinner did not start until 19:30pm each evening and with two small children this was a little late, the hotel were more than happy to accommodate. Actually think the evening opening was a little late for everyone, as the one night we did go down for it, so did the rest of the hotel at 19:30pm and so there was a huge queue waiting to get into the dining hall at that time. The food on offer was plentiful and always warm, occasionally hot but never cold. There was always grilled meat, fish, veggies etc. Sure everyone could make a meal out of what was on offer. Drinks are only served with breakfast when HB, you have to buy your drinks with either your lunch or dinner, this includes water which I think is a little naff. Be good to have at least a small bottle of water provided. We stayed in a double room, which again as a couple would have been fine, but with a 2 year old in the sofa bed and a 8 month old in a cot the floor space disappeared quickly, there was a lot of stubbed toes. I did enquire about upgrading the room to a larger one but the hotel wanted another 800 euros for the weeks stay, which I felt quick excessive given the room upgrade was minimal. Jet2s contract with the hotel only offers twin or double rooms, so there wasn't an option at the booking stage to get a more substantial room or I would have. In summary, lovely hotel, well positioned, food more than adequate, just not for families at least not out of season anyway. Might be a different story come June. Calpe however, gorgeous, would certainly recommend and will be back if we find a more family friendly hotel.…
Stayed here through JET2 Holidays. Very nice 4* hotel just 2 minutes away from the seafront. Excellent room with view over the pool and towards the sea. We stayed half board. Drinks at breakfast included but at dinner are extras. The food was good but have had better and more selection in other 4* hotels. Having said that it would in no way prevent me from returning here. This hotel is very popular with cyclists and so at times can be on the busy side. Whilst we were at the hotel they seemed to have problems with the lifts. On one occasion the lift stopped above the floor level and staff had to help people down. Not ideal. At the time we visited the weather wasn't brilliant and were going to use the pool inside the hotel but was told it was 25 euros each to do so. We personally found the cost a bit steep so didn't bother. All in all though a good break away.…
