It is our family circumstances that mean that we do not get to book in advance, and on this occasion our trip to Madrid was booked 24 hours before leaving. This means that we do not get to read reviews prior to selecting a place...More
The price is cheap and the experience is too, as to be expected. A little room with a tiny miget-bed. I'm 175 and my feet were hanging outvof the bed. Personel is not enormously enthusiastic either. Wifi sucks and if you want noise all through...More
Small, cheap and clean hostel located in the coolest Madrid neighborhood, near to the major street (Gran Via), to subway station (Calao) and a lot of nice bars and restaurants. I've spent 9 days here and had a blast.More

Good location near Gran Via so that the room facing to the street is very noisy. You must need ear plugs. The front lady was kind but the night front guy was not. The room facility was OK but the towel quality was terrible. Bathroom...More
Lovely hotel. Perfectly located for exploring the different towns around Lake Como. Big enough to spend a few days (we stayed 7 nights) and to never feel crowded. Falls short of a five star rating for temperamental key card/electricity supply that kept cutting out during...More

Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to
the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighbourhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
