Stayed at Paseo del Arte during Christmas week 2010 for 7 nights. It was very close to the Metro station and the Train station - so it was convenient if you want to take the train to Barcelona (which we did) early in the morning and coming back late at night. It was also very close to the Prado Museum...

Hotel was clean, modern and the staff was very helpful. We took the train from the airport with no troubles. Very close to the ATOCHA, train station and to the parks and museums. We had an interior room and it was quiet. We arrived and then mid week took the AVE to Seville for two nights and left our bags with...

as others have said, the rooms are small, but nice and clean. The breakfast is really overpriced and not very good. the location is PERFECT for the museums. and train station. and it's easy to get to from the airport because it's right off the highway, so you don't get caught in city traffic. the internet is way too expensive...

We booked this hotel for our party of six, three twin rooms. The hotel is lovely and in a great location, with an excellent buffet breakfast. Make sure you keep windows shut as noise from nightclub dreadful if you are near it. We found the desk staff to be unfriendly and unhelpful when we asked for all the rooms on...

Clean, modern and above average quality. Easy walk to the Prado and Sofia museums. Skip the breakfast buffet as it is too expensive and there are plenty of breakfast options in the neighborhood. Wonderful city view from the fitness room which has common aerobic machines but no free weights. Great hotel in it's price range.

Hotel is located right in the heart of the city, literally across the street from the Reina Sofia and the main train station. Typical 4 start European room, nothing crazy, but very clean. The hotel was very accommodative, they were able to get us tickets to the bull fight in town. I would recommend this hotel for travelers looking for...

Close to train station, metro, restaurants and sights. And all I could wish from a city hotel. At a fair price. Need I say more?

This wonderful 4-star hotel is located less than 5 minutes from the Atocha metro stop. Its location gives you prime access to Atocha train station, Reina Sofía, Buen Retiro Park, Paseo del Prado, and of course the Prado. Up and down the street there are plenty of dining options. If you're thinking of having McGriddles for breakfast, forget it. The...

We liked this hotel because of its proximity to the Atocha station and main museums. Hotel is located a few steps across from the Reina Sofia museum and within walking distance to the station, Prado museum, and parque del Retiro. Staff was very nice to us but slow. It seem to me that there were always other people asking questions...

We stayed there last year for several days and again this year overnight. Its a busy place with travelers coming and going at all hours. Everything is good about this hotel but it is irritating that they have expensive wireless internet charges. Several doors down, MacDonalds offers FREE wireless!

Staying in Paseo del Prado

Neighbourhood Profile
Paseo del Prado
The area around the elegant Paseo del Prado boulevard is much-visited by both locals and tourists. The world-famous Prado, the Reina Sofia, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza museums form a triangle of art and culture that spans this grand and beautiful avenue. On weekdays, the Prado Museum opens its doors for free after-work hours, drawing a diverse and excited queue of art lovers that wraps around the block. Palacio de Cibeles and Círculo de Bellas Artes cultural centers are other artsy hangouts to check out, with rooftop bars that provide impressive views of the city. While the Paseo del Prado and its roundabouts form a busy throughway in Madrid, a broad green pedestrian park in the middle is a calm and gorgeous place for a relaxing stroll. Just east of the museums, the Retiro Park is always a confluence of activity as families and friends of all ages take to the pretty paths and lawns to stretch their legs or to have a picnic.
