Ideal location, just round the corner from the Main Street. Very clean, smelt lovely as you walked through into reception. Extremely friendly and helpful. Everything you need for a weekend away. Bedroom had tea/coffee making facilities, plus a minibar. Bathroom was large and had a great shower.

The hotel is in a good location for exploring old Madrid making everything walkable. The staff were excellent, nothing was to much for them. The breakfast had plenty of choice and there seemed something for everyone. The rooms, had nearly every toiletry you could wish for , were very clean and kept that way, but were on the small side...

Stayed in a family room with two bunk beds and two single beds, room smallish but beds very comfortable, shower room very good but perhaps a lock on the shower room door would be advisable when it is a family room. Good sized television in the room. A couple of comfortable chairs would be an added plus. Staff were very...

The location is perfect. You are in the middle of everything. Staff is fantastic and very friendly. The rooms are on the small side but who visits Madrit to sit in the room. I am a GM of a hotel in UK and i highly recommend this place to anyone visiting this lovely city.

Clean efficient city centre hotel. Modern style all grey and chrome with huge TVs in room and excellent shower room. No complaints at all about room or bed (comfortable) but the hotel fronts on to a busy street with a bus stop directly outside and traffic noise including periodic carousing (plus cacophanous bin emptying at 3am) seems to go on...

This is the second time I have stayed there, and again it was very enjoyable. Staff recognized me even though it was a year ago since my last stay, which surprised me. The room and bathroom were spacious and the room was equipped with a brand new TV. I especially appreciated the little details. The receptionist Teresa organised a plate...

If you want reasonable, comfy, and clean, PPSB fits the bill. Half a block from the Metro station, an easy walk to Plaza Mayor, the Prado, and other spots. Lot's of very good restaurants in the neighborhood-not your ordinary tourist spots so the food has to be good. Helpful and friendly staff

I like the hotel's central location - just few steps from Gran Via with great shopping options. Right near the Santo Domingo metro station, walking distance to Plaza de Espana - and fairly quick trip from/to airport with one transfer only. Rooms are clean but the overall feeling is like decaying premises, especially bathroom. In my case substandard cleaning too....

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
