Neighbourhood
Malasaña
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighbourhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.

highly qualified, thoughtful and pleasant people. We will certainly return. A highlight for Ana from the reception and Marissol, responsible for breakfast. The location is excellent, 200 meters from Bilbao subway station. Very happy in this lodging.

Great hotel in a funky/student area, short walk from the very centre. Staff very friendly, it was a nice place to base yourself to travel on the metro to sights further into the city.

Lots of cafes and bars around in the area.

Would definitely stay again.

Hello, I wish to know three things: 1. How to book a room with a street/good view on your AccorHotels website? I am a AccorHotels card holder. 2. Is there a laundromat nearby? 3. Is there a Granier bakery and Lidl / Carrefour nearby? Thanks, Ami
Hi Ami, Here is what I did: 1. I sent an email to the hotel and asked them for a room in a high floor (which was what I needed) - I advise you to do the same. 2. I did not check adn therefore cannot answer it properly. 3. There is one carrefour very close to the hotel but it is small. However if you go to the other side you can find a bigger carrefour that is open 24/7 and has a wide variety of everything.

Hi. Is it est to get a taxi to you from the airport or would you recommend a taxi. If so, what would be the average cost you would think is acceptable to pay for tithe taxi ride? Seems your about a 17 minute journey away. Regards, Nick.
There are a ton of taxis waiting at the arrivals. It's a 20 min ride or so depending on traffic and it's a set $30 euro fee to get to the hotel. If you don't speak Spanish then have the address available for the driver

Hi, is there a supermarket and pharmacy close to the hotel. Also what transport is there from ATOCHA train station to the hotel. Thank you
Good evening Paulscan and thank you for contacting us. Indeed, there is a supermaket in the nearby and as well there are pharmacies just close by. From Atocha train station you have an easy way to reach the hotel. You should take the line number 1 of our underground (METRO), and stop at Bilbao station, which is 1 minute away. Just follow the indications for the street Manuela Malasaña once you are at Bilbao. For any other doubt, please do not hesitate to contact us. Kind regards, George Avram
