Cat's hostel is a great place to stay! It is located in the center of Madrid with all important sights in walking distance. The staff is nice, the rooms are clean, there are big lockers in each room and there is a free breakfast in the morning. The bar is opened every night and there are always activities offered, which...

One of The best hostels I've been by far. Since I got there I didn't stop to meet new people, what it was what I was looking for. Cool bar, cool staff (special mention to the girl with blue hair and cool t-shirts, she is the best) and a lot of activities to do. Free breakfast (basic but enough), and lockers...

This hotel is perfect for travelers with low budget, and wondering to meet people. It is perfectly located in the heart of Madrid. Its bar is always lively, and the staff in general is amazing, especially Natalia, who treated us wonderfully. We would certainly return.

I have stayed here in January and I have to say that I had amazing time. The hostel is really good. I stayed in the 10 room bedroom with our bathroom. Everything was amazing. The room was clean and the all hostel looks really good. The common area for just chilling or a bar to drink and have fun. The...

This hostel was in a perfect location and everything was in walking distance. Didn't have to use the metro once. The staff were friendly and encouraged you to participate in their activities. Met lots of travellers and ended up returning a few weeks later! Rooms and communal areas were clean and spacious and there was a good wifi connection. The...

Only stay here if you're planning on going out until 3.00am every night. There's noise coming from everywhere, people yelling mostly but also from something that sounds like a 1950's generator. The breakfast is terribly unorganized, the beds are old and squeaky, the Wi-Fi does not reach most rooms, I barely slept during my two-day stay here, only partly due...

Hi, thank you for your comment. We are sorry to hear your bad experience, it is sound that you have been very unlucky, it seems all bad things happend to you. We are a party hostel so sometimes can be a little bit noisy until the bar closes at 1am. After that time, if you have issues with people coming...

First impressions were bad, sent to the wrong room to walk in on a disgruntled female changing but nevertheless it is a fantastic building. Rooms and showers are nice, interior is great and I met some great people. It is not without the typical problems of a hostel however, e.g. people waking you and having sex in dorms but swings...

Staying in Huertas

Neighbourhood Profile
Huertas
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighbourhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighbourhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
