The big attraction of the four star (just) Infantas is its great downtown location, on a quite side street just 100 m off the Alcala and within walking distance of many of Madrid's major visitor attractions, including the three great art museums. We thought it good value at a discounted rate and enjoyed our two night stay, Our 'superior' room...

We had a very nice stay at this hotel (and definitely worth the 60 euros/night I nabbed on venere.com). The rooms were a nice size, well furnished, clean, the bathrooms large and modern and the front desk staff pleasant and helpful. Our rooms were on the first floor and got a bit of street noise. There is a decent, trendy...

Only stayed the one night but booking was really simple on [-]. The hotel is in a great location and even though it was mid August, there was plenty going on in the evening (bars and clubs still open). The rooms and public areas seem recently refurbished and (as in some earlier reviews here) the beds ARE preety hard. My...

After arriving in Madrid, my first hotel was terrible so I jumped on Priceline UK and found the Hotel Lusso Infantas. It was very reasonable (for Europe) 100 Euros avg per night for three nights. The front desk staff was very kind and efficient. The room was stylish and comfortable, with laminate floors, nice lighting, and flat screen TV. The...

The hotel itself is very nice. It is expensive, but well located, clean, modern and friendly staff. I had however two major problems that would put me off staying here again: 1 - The bedroom where we stayed had a wooden floor and it seems they never cleaned under the bed as it had a thick layer of dust. 2...

Stayed there with 2 young children over Easter. Great location - handy for the Retiro park and the centre of town. Room was large and comfortable. Maybe the UK pound is just weak at the moment but felt the damage in the wallet - 200 euros a night room only. That said, would recommend it to those who want to...

I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights, the location is very good: close to the metro, starbucks and the Gran Via. The room was nice, but it has some issues that remind me more a 2 or 2 1/2 star hotel than a 4 one The issues were the following: A) The bathroom was like unfinished, the toilet and...

Booked the hotel after much online searching but by using trip advisor reviews and seeing how reasonably priced the rates were, this hotel ticked all the boxes. When we arrived we were overwhelmed by the very high standards throughout. It has been very tastefully and recently refurbished .Air conditioned but with balconies, flat screen tv,mini bar, safe, classy bathrooms -and all this in a superb central...

My best friend and I stayed in a twin room at Hotel Lusso Infantas last week. We were so impressed. We stayed for €70 per night (before 7% VAT), which for a genuine 4 star hotel is a bargain price. Aesthetically the hotel communal areas, rooms and bathrooms are lovely; everything was clean, well maintained and there were touches of...

Staying in Chueca

Neighbourhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighbourhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
