Room and the hotel overall are tired. Room c=was noise at 04:30 am which was facing the main street. Did not pay for the breakfast as too many choices around. Be prepared to pay for anything extra, such as cup of hot water.

The location is the deal. Steps from the metro station. It wasn't air conditioned. And the heating system wasn't good enough. I think they lower the heating temperature during day. At night it was ok. The furniture was very overused which I didn't like.

The rooms and facilities of the Hostal Pereda are a bit dated, and some of the rooms facing the Gran Via are a bit loud if you are not used to city noise at night (you might like to ask for a room not facing the Gran Via). However, the people who run the place are nice, helpful, and uncomplicated,...

The location is fantastic! In the center of many attractions. As for the place and picture that you see as to how the property looks, it is by far not the same place. The place and room was very dingy and old. It was liveable but definitely not the same standard for comparable price we paid in Barcelona.

My mother had booked a hotel and for some reason, there was a mix up and she had no place to stay. She explained to me that these people helped her and were very kind to her. She had told them that she was attending a flamenco show on the night of her birthday and when she returned to her...

Very central location just metres from Gran Via metro. Great value for central Madrid, considering the expensive nature of the city. Comfortable beds and clean room. Friendly and helpful reception, although only Spanish spoken. Good value breakfast although a hot option, e.g. eggs, bacon etc., would have been appreciated.

I am on a 1 night stopover in Madrid and was looking for something cheap with certain criteria: clean, central, quiet, friendly service. I found it on this Hostal. No comfort, no view, but a good value for a low price.

If Budget is a consideration & yet you want to open the front door & step out into the heart of the city, then Hostal Pereda is worth considering. Located approx. 50 metres from the Main Street (Gran Via) & approx. 50 metres from the Gran Via Metro, you will not be struggling with luggage through the city streets! And...

I've just got back from Madrid and what I can say is that the Hostal Pereda is a very good deal for those who like me, can't share a room in hostels. It is a perfect place for a short break in Madrid. The location is more than great ; from there, you can walk to Puerta Del Sol, Plaza...

Staying in Malasana

Neighbourhood Profile
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighbourhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
