Great value for the price paid, we were getting an early flight so it was very close and convenient to the airport, close by was a large square with restaurants and cafes which served meals after 10pm when we arrived, in the same square next...More
Good quality hotel in Barajas, near airport. The rooms are convenient and clean. Near by are many good restaurants. My smartphone is unlocked and near the hotel I found a provider (Orange) where I got a SIM card and service for 10 days for only...More
We arrived in Madrid at around 10pm and were so glad we had booked this hotel, which is only a 7-10 minute bus ride away (3 euros for 2 of us) from the airport. The restaurant was closed for renovations but that was ok as...More

I don't know what Eros is talking about. This hotel is near the airport. The city center of Madrid is many miles away.....but you can easily take the Metro. Eros might have confused the hotel, because I did see the name pop up on a map of downtown; what is shown on the accompanying map, though, is the airport hotel.
If you are staying just one night, it will be hard to see much of Madrid. But you could take the Metro "downtown" and go to the Plaza Mayor and/or a nearby tapas bar and maybe get a feel for the city. Depending on your flight times/energy/interests, maybe you could pack in the Prado Museum, but that's pushing it.
If not, the neighborhood near the hotel is very Madrid itself. This is not like staying at an "airport hotel" away from everything. You are right in the heart of a real neighborhood with lots of local restaurants, outdoor cafes, stores, etc. Yet, close to the airport.
I do not think the Hotel has a shuttle to the airport. Take metro or taxi.
We parked in a big empty lot for free, less than two blocks from hotel. Ask at the front desk. She said that's where she parks. Parked there overnight and it seemed safe :) .
