The hostel is suspiciously difficult to find, as there is not any name in the door or the bell. The place is just a big family flat (in a good way) with a super friendly atmosphere. But there are just two small individual toilets and it is just average clean: room was big, comfy and seemed clean, but the carpet...

DO NOT STAY HERE. we paid for 2 nights in cash and the hostel was nice but the owner was a nightmare. We checked out at correct time, the owner gave us key to let ourselves in then flipped out when we used kitchen when we came to collect our baggage. Very abusive, threatened me and threw me out. Never...

Quite difficult to find on the street (and gain access too if unsure how European apartments work), but otherwise this hostel was fantastic. Nice beds, plenty of power points, sufficient cooling in rooms. Wi-Fi was fine in rooms too! Only downside was only two showers/toilets (same room) for the entire hostel - this can lead to some pretty serious congestion...

Nice place and rooms, everything was clean and very perfumed. The boss is really willing and nice. The rooms are big enough and the bed is comfy. Bathroom clean. People nice and friendly. Located perfectly in the city centre, near from everywhere and quiet during the nighttime.

Perfect location, the enterance to the hostel was a bit funny, there were no good signs. The guy who helped us was very friendly, he got all kinds of recommendations and a city map which was handy. Also he helped us with the tickets for the metro, we got a good ticket for a good price. We had a very...

It was an amazing experience. Best hostel I've been in Madrid for sure. Good price and a very nice host. In the center of Madrid so it's an excellent location. 5 minutes walking to Puerta del sol and to Gran via. It is very clean. I totally recommend it and I'll come back for sure. Thank you Alexis

We stayed at Fun Sleep recently as a party of 28 - in spite of the hostel being full to capacity we found the accommodation very welcoming, comfortable and clean. The location is absolutely superb - you are literally a 1 minute walk from Sol central area and close to all amenities. The beds were comfortable, the building secure and...

After having had some issues to find the place (we didnt receive a proper guidance to find the place - and the door is not signed out anywhere), we were put into a small room without window or AC. 2 horrible nights. Even though other beds were available, the owner refused to give us other beds. Besides, atmosphere isnt very...

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
