Nice room with two beds and a shower corner. No possibility for breakfast, but a really excellent value for the money. The proximity of the Madrid central railway station ensures this is our choise also next time!

Budget priced and great for the price. Basic, clean, TV, WiFi, balcony, en suite shower. Owner very friendly and was really patient with my terrible Spanish. It is a bit noisy but what do you expect being in the city centre? Great location. Gracias Violera, volveremos!

This is a small hostel at the Atocha station, at walking distance to Puerta del sol and to the beautiful Retiro park. Very clean room in a nice building, the tenant is a very kind lady, if you don t mind the shared bathroom, this hostel is ideal. Also, there is a shower cabin in the room, which is great...

We stayed there for 2 nights. We liked: - Very practical location to pass a night, if you need to stay close to Atocha station (from which there are shuttles to the Barajas airport, by the way...). Prado museum (check FREE evening hours!..) and the Botanical garden is just across the street. Parque del Retiro is also not far. The...

Their only single room is not suitable to sleep in because it is the one closest to the stairs/door so you hear everyone going up and down. Worse, it is also the room closest to the neighbor (the hostel shares the floor with another tenant) so you will hear the loud pumping music playing from that room/neighbor from 8pm onwards...

La Asturiana is ok to stay for a night. I stayed there only cause I needed an early wake up for an activity and it was a good choice. The most welcoming cuban woman was there. It is clean, well equipped and above all quiet and relaxing. Very basic and homely!

You definitely get what you pay for, people. No there's no breakfast and yes it's small, but we easily managed this space and were very comfortable! Bathroom was fine, wifi was great, and the family was awesome! They give us recommendations and even allowed us a little extra time to pay for the booking, since I had forgotten to get...

We were moved to La Asturiana for two nights from Hostal Rivera - and La Asturiana was much more better. First of all, we had a shower in our room - it may be strange, because it was only shower cabin, not separate bathroom, but it wasn't a problem for us. The room was nicely furnished with a balcony. It...

Very nice location, walking distance from "atocha", where the express bus to the airport stops. Very clean, towels included, but very very small room. We stayed in one with private bathroom which was very nice because the bathroom was divided from the room (some rooms had the shower near the bed). But in the end it's exactly what you need...

I second everything the guy from maine said. My girlfriend and I are traveling for six months. Currently posting from ho chi minh vietnam. Been traveling in asia for 1.5 months now and four all over europe. This was the smallest room I have ever seen. I had bathrooms not much smaller than this room. We actually stored our bags...

Staying in Paseo del Prado

Neighbourhood Profile
Paseo del Prado
The area around the elegant Paseo del Prado boulevard is much-visited by both locals and tourists. The world-famous Prado, the Reina Sofia, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza museums form a triangle of art and culture that spans this grand and beautiful avenue. On weekdays, the Prado Museum opens its doors for free after-work hours, drawing a diverse and excited queue of art lovers that wraps around the block. Palacio de Cibeles and Círculo de Bellas Artes cultural centers are other artsy hangouts to check out, with rooftop bars that provide impressive views of the city. While the Paseo del Prado and its roundabouts form a busy throughway in Madrid, a broad green pedestrian park in the middle is a calm and gorgeous place for a relaxing stroll. Just east of the museums, the Retiro Park is always a confluence of activity as families and friends of all ages take to the pretty paths and lawns to stretch their legs or to have a picnic.
