This hotel is easily accessible from the airport by catching the airport express bus which cost 5 euros per person. They drop you off at Atocha train station which is across the road from the hotel.. You can then travel on the train to other parts of Spain without having to worry about getting to the train station. We had...

This hotel is in front of the Atocha station. The stop of the bus from airport is five minute from hotel and the subway is around the corner. Room cleans and comfortable. Prime very cheap by booking. Helpful staff.

Centrally located hotel, right next to one of the main train/metro stations. Within walking distance from the city centre. Reception stuff very polite and helpful. They suggested us many places to visit and many things to do. We had requested for a room on the highest floor, and we got a lovely, big room on the 5th floor, with great...

My wife, two children and I stayed here for two nights in December 2016. If you are visiting Madrid for 2-3 nights as part of a longer trip around Spain, this hotel is perfect. First of all, the hotel is located across from the Atocha train station. Usually in Europe, the neighborhood around the main train station is a bit...

We started here for 2 nights between Christmas and New Year. This is an old hotel that has been renovated nicely with the old decoration and style respected instead of replaced. Our room was on the side so there was some street noise but no more than in the centre of any city and ear plugs took care of it....

The restaurant is clean and tidy. Perhaps a bit overpriced. On the other hand, it is located in an excellent place: within a waling distance to Atocha station and close to famous museums and other places of interest. Also, there are lots of good restaurants and tapas bars nearby,

The location is great in terms of location. It's just a short distance from the atocha train station. Some of the staff is helpful but some are not. There is food center and some restaurant nearby the hotel. We have found a very nice food behind the hotel. I think they opening at night time only. The airport bus service...

Once a large Edwardian terminus hotel it has been downgraded to a large terminus hostal. So bland and beige it was like staying in a Crème Caramel. Immaculately clean but soulless. The 3rd floor front was very noisy to the point sleeping was a problem. When I asked to be moved to a quieter room both the very young men...

Dea rMrFishwick : First of all we would like to apologize about your bad experience in our hotel. You need to understand that our hotel is in the main center of Madrid, a very nice and bussy area, so if you request an exterior room facing to the station, you will problably allways feel this noise. That`s why we changed...

I recently stayed at Hotel Mediodia in Madrid on a University field trip. The layout of the hotel, for us at least, was 4 to a room, but this is what we expected before we came. Overall cleanliness was good; the toilets were spotless, towels replaced daily and the maid service was exceptional. Everyday when we returned to our rooms,...

Staying in Paseo del Prado

Neighbourhood Profile
Paseo del Prado
The area around the elegant Paseo del Prado boulevard is much-visited by both locals and tourists. The world-famous Prado, the Reina Sofia, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza museums form a triangle of art and culture that spans this grand and beautiful avenue. On weekdays, the Prado Museum opens its doors for free after-work hours, drawing a diverse and excited queue of art lovers that wraps around the block. Palacio de Cibeles and Círculo de Bellas Artes cultural centers are other artsy hangouts to check out, with rooftop bars that provide impressive views of the city. While the Paseo del Prado and its roundabouts form a busy throughway in Madrid, a broad green pedestrian park in the middle is a calm and gorgeous place for a relaxing stroll. Just east of the museums, the Retiro Park is always a confluence of activity as families and friends of all ages take to the pretty paths and lawns to stretch their legs or to have a picnic.
