+ Great location in the heart of Malasaña, a great neighbourhood full of bars and cafes. + Definitely a very clean and neat place. + Decent size of the rooms with a nice bathroom. - Hardly any furniture - which is perfectly fine if you're only going to be there for a couple of nights. - Rather thin walls -...

The location couldn't be better. At literally 5 minutes from Gran via and all the shops, the hostel is ideally located but surprisingly quiet! The rooms are spacious, modern and clean and the beds are very cosy. The air con in the room is very handy too. Very friendly staff and free wifi all throughout the property. And the prices...

The hostel is located near gran via, madrid's main street. We didn't need to take any transportation to the major sightseeing spots. The rooms are small but very clean. I really recommend it. The negative side is the street noise and for some people, the hookers wandering nearby (although there wasn't any threatening incidents from them) just the noise.

We visited this hotel in April 2016 for 4 nights stay and were so impressed by the staff and atmosphere. The location of the hotel is perfect - 2-3 minutes on foot to the biggest commercial street in Madrid - Gran Via street. We were in a small doble room with big king size bed. There weren't so many furnitures...

Stayed here for a night on a stop over while making a cross country trip from Lisbon to the Spanish east coast. Brilliant value, extremely clean and quiet. No bar or amenities in the hotel itself but it is very near shopping/bar district (but on side street so no noise) so no real need. Staff very friendly and helpful and...

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights and our room was brand new, clean and comfortable. The staff were so friendly and willing to help. Location is amazing, just few minutes walking from Gran Via and really close to all the main attractions. I strongly recommend it!

An extremely well very located place just in the heart of in the old center of Madrid. So many cozy bars in the neighborhood and several of them had live music. The small bar just opposite the pension Cartagenera is worth visiting. So nice staff.

There is NO SIGN. you must find the street number and then look at the buzzer directory where you will see the hotel name. it is on the 1st floor (2nd in europe) and has a lovely well working elevator. The street the hotel is on has a bar and a nice cafe right across.....however......there are a lot of prositiutes...and...

It was extremely Well located. It was an old building between Malasana and Gran Via close to Gran Via subway station (two blocks away a 3 minute walk). The lady who was at the front was extremely accommodating and kept the place very clean. It was very good value for our money.

Staying in Malasana

Neighbourhood Profile
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighbourhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
