Great location, within walking distance of all major attractions, shops, bars and restaurants on doorstep. Worth paying extra for room with balcony. Hotel very nice, clean with very comfortable bed. Only negative is there are no tea, coffee making facilities in room. Staff helpful and friendly, would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is well placed to be able to walk around the city. There is so much to see and do in close proximity. On the ground floor there is a very nice bar and the restaurant is in the Michelin guide. There were glass walls in the room for the shower and toilet. Although you could not see through,...

This hotel is located above a tapas restaurant so If you don't do research you might have a difficult time locating the reception area. The staff were very helpful when I checked in and made me feel welcomed. The room was a bit small but that is what I expected but big enough for two people. I decided to get...

We stayed at Posada for 3 nights while in Madrid. Thought the place was great. The room was a little old with some modern features (like the bathroom). Very well maintained by the staff. We were in Madrid to explore and Posada was extremely convenient to major sights. Short walk to Plaza Mayor, San Miguel Market, el Rastro and Plaza...

Loved this hotel. Great central location in the heart of the action. Walk to the palace, museums, square or market. Comfy bed. Vibrant city, our balcony room was a pleasure. Strong wifi. Nice breakfast too.

Can't beat the location. The hotel is surrounded by delicious tapas restaurants and all the main sights. There is a restaurant in the hotel courtyard that can get noisy at night and could be problematic if you want to go to bed early on a weekend night, but it didn't bother us.

Delta cancelled our flights due to a tornado that occurred 3 days prior. After waiting in line to reschedule for 8 hours, we had expedia call the hotel to ask them to change the dates. They would not refund our 4 night stay even though we wanted to stay there later. Not only did we miss out on 4 nights...

Hands down location in La Latina and Cava Baja is great. Everything in the city is walkable from there. Plenty of food and bars around, so you will be spoilt for choice. However hotel itself left us disappointed. We were placed in a ground floor room at the very rear of dinning area. Space is very squeezed and narrow to...

On first arriving, we found our room to be small, almost windowless, and without in room tea/coffee. (I do like my morning cup...) Located on the ground floor, you accessed the room by walking through the restaurant dining area, which seemed a little weird. However after spending 3 nights there, we found that the location in Madrid, excellent service and...

Staying in La Latina

Neighbourhood Profile
La Latina
La Latina is a charming neighbourhood with two unique personalities. At first glance, it’s distinctly old-world, with narrow streets weaving a maze among charming stone buildings in sunny, bright colors like yellow and pink. The other side of La Latina is characterized by a young population and a bohemian vibe, as evidenced by a dynamic and evolving selection of new bars, shops, coworking spaces, and other businesses popping up in the area. In the northern part of the neighbourhood, the Cava Alta and Cava Baja streets constitute the tapas center of Madrid, where each age-old restaurant serves up distinctive specialties like huevos rotos and patatas bravas. Locals have come here for generations to while away hours over drinks and tapas with friends. On Sundays and public holidays, the streets to the south of La Latina metro station transform into a giant open-air market full of locals sifting through tent after tent of art, apparel, and antiques. Any day of the week, the intriguing blend of the traditional and the hip make the streets of La Latina worth exploring.
