This is a very down to earth hotel with comfortable rooms and a nice personal touch by the friendly staff. My room was comfortable and quite sizeable. Staff was super friendly during check-in and check-out (helping me getting a taxi). Would certainly consider staying here again, next time I'm in Madrid.

This hotel is brilliantly located in the centre of Madrid. I checked in, left my bag and was in Paca Major within ten minutes. The Prado is a short walk away, there's plenty of places to eat and drink right outside. The room was decent, the staff were great. If I stayed again though I'd skip breakfast. It's not the...

We are in the very downtown of Madrid, only 300 metres away from Puerta del Sol, and this is one of our main strenghts that allows you to have everything at your fingertips. We hope to welcome you again in the future and convince you to have breakfast with the new offer we wil have in the future.

We stayed here for a couple of nights in early April. The room was clean and comfortable, a little quirky with the theatric decor. A couple of stocking clad legs sticking out of the wall above the bed was different. We arrived a little early and the room was not ready, but that's ok, the staff stored our luggage, helped...

Your room was themed around the musical "Chicago". All those welcome details should be something normal in hospitality industry and it is part of our daily routines. This is what make us different. Being in the very downtown of Madrid has its positive and negative point of view. You can walk to the main touristic areas and you have all...

Loved the theatrical decor. Staff could not have been more friendly and helpful, it was a an easy Hotel to relax in. Location was great. The negatives were the bedroom lighting was a bit poor, but more than adequate in the bathroom.

We are pleased to know that you enjoyed our decor and hospitality. It is very important to know that you had a good stay. The lighting is part of the charm of the hotel decoration, but we will analyze that suggestion.

I was skeptical when booking, but was surprised by a charming small hotel in the center of Madrid. "Small" is one key word, as rooms are really small, however facilities are maintained very well and the stay is absolutely enjoyable, unless you plan to hang out in the hotel a lot.

We are delighted to have pleasantly surprised you. All our rooms are quite different and they have their own decoration. Then, we have different sizes of rooms. And, obviously, our strategic location invites you to discover Madrid and not stay in the hotel, except to rest.

Positive things about this place are: staff is very welcoming and friendly to guests, they ready to help you and keep your stay at the hotel comfortable and calm; great location (near Sol metro station and del Sol square); marvelous rooms' design (our room decoration was inspired by one of Buenos Aires theatres); if you're looking for a place of...

Many thanks for your comments. We are delighted to know that you had a great stay and experience at Casual Madrid del Teatro. Being welcoming and friendly is part of our culture and the rest comes by itself because our guests feel at home and they transmit their well-being to the rest. Certainly the blackout had nothing to do with...

Clean and fresh rooms and bathrooms. Quiet street but close to both cultural areas like El Padro, Retiro park, Gran Via architecture; as well at the shopping disctricts and restaurants in the city. As well as the bars in the city, Chueca et al for the evening.

I spent 3 nights in this hotel with my wife. In the deep city center, like few steps from Puerta del Sol but at the same time not in the crowd street. The staff was very friendly, they can speak good english. They provided us all the possible informations about the city and more. The rooms are very clean and...

We are delighted to know that everything was to your liking. It is very important to know that location, staff, facilities, service, wifi and additional details (free water and chocolate) are welcome because all these details help us to keep giving the best possible service. But next time you must have breakfast with us ;)

Iwanted to choose a small hotel in the city center, which has a unique style. It was a perfect choice. This is a simple hotel, but has a special charm, rooms are like in the photos. The location is just perfect, most centrally located places are within a walking distance. The employees are friendly, and helpful. The breakfast is fine...

We had booked for six days based on positive reviews but we left after one night. (Thank goodness for flexible cancellation rates.) The staff attempted to be helpful, but apparently the hotel is more interested in being consistent with some "designer's vision" than with providing comfort to their guests. I had thought the theatrical theme would just add some kitsch,...

Without a doubt, a very critical vision that fits little to reality, but we accept it. It is your opinion and we respect it even if it makes us doubt if it really was the type of establishment that you were looking for. It is obvious that every hotel should have positive and negative comments and that we cannot be...

Staying in Huertas

Neighbourhood Profile
Huertas
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighbourhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighbourhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
