Simple accommodation, but excellent localization. Situated on Paseo de Prado across from the Prado museum and Retiro park, very close to Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, , Thyssen-Bornemisya Museum and Atocha Railway station Friendly and helpful staff.

When we booked the hotel it was mainly for its location (in front of the Prado Museum, where we were going to visit an exhibition). From the social areas to the room we got everything pairs the quality of three and even some four star hotels – what a good surprise! For the receptionist Luis we attribute five stars.

A really well situated hotel, handy for the train station and some of the key sights. The area behind the hotel up to Plaza Mayor caters for all culinary and drinking tastes. I have been to Madrid on a number of occasions before but this was a new and welcome discovery for me. The air conditioning room was quiet and...

I stayed with a friend. We had single rooms which were spotlessly clean and tidy if a little uninspired in terms of decor. The air conditioning was great. The hotel is 5 minutes from the Prado and Atocha railway station. The other hotels in the area were much more expensive at the time of looking. The reception were very helpful...

I was looking for an economical option for one night in Madrid close to the Big Three..Prado, Thyssen and Reina Sofia. Hotel Mora fit the bill perfectly. It is on Paseo de Prado within five minutes walk of all of the above and ten minutes from Atocha Station with links to Airport and Metro and Renfe. The reception was as...

Across the road from Botanical Gardens which is a welcome and peaceful break from the busy city, The airport shuttle bus takes you to Atocha station which is 10 mins walk away. $5. Close to the train station that takes you to and from the airport for about 2.75 euros one way. Location is great for seeing a lot of the city by foot. Rooms are small and on main drag but quiet with doors shut to small balcony fronting the hotel. Shower stall is coffin sized so a large person could have...

I stayed at this hotel for one night since I had to catch a flight home in the morning. I arrived with the fast speed train at the Atocha Station that evening, so this hotel was a convenient low stress solution for me. I booked a single room which was small but the bed was large and comfortable. The bath...

This hotel is very well positioned for anyone arriving to Atocha Station or using the airport bus. The hotel service was excellent and my room was enter than I assumed it would be - two large windows with step out balconies and a good size bathroom. The hallways are narrow and the lift tiny but there is a nice area...

We chose this hotel for convenience -- for a long weekend in Madrid in which we wanted to visit the Prado and then get an early-morning train from Atocha to Barcelona. It did that and more -- it was friendly and comfortable and, despite facing the very busy Paseo del Prado, was supremely quiet, thanks to triple glazing. Breakfast was...

Staying in Paseo del Prado

Neighbourhood Profile
Paseo del Prado
The area around the elegant Paseo del Prado boulevard is much-visited by both locals and tourists. The world-famous Prado, the Reina Sofia, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza museums form a triangle of art and culture that spans this grand and beautiful avenue. On weekdays, the Prado Museum opens its doors for free after-work hours, drawing a diverse and excited queue of art lovers that wraps around the block. Palacio de Cibeles and Círculo de Bellas Artes cultural centers are other artsy hangouts to check out, with rooftop bars that provide impressive views of the city. While the Paseo del Prado and its roundabouts form a busy throughway in Madrid, a broad green pedestrian park in the middle is a calm and gorgeous place for a relaxing stroll. Just east of the museums, the Retiro Park is always a confluence of activity as families and friends of all ages take to the pretty paths and lawns to stretch their legs or to have a picnic.
