Convenient location in Madrid off of Gran Via and next to Callao metro station. Easily walkable to Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor. We stayed on the first floor. The balcony doors provided good soundproofing as we did not hear much street noise. We got breakfast included with the room and they had a good selection and this allowed us to have a nice start to each day without rushing out to find something to eat. Highly recommend Hotel Preciados if you are looking for a nice hotel conveniently located to the major attractions.
Price is very high, but room is an ordinary three stars. Not much place, bathroom without window. Some small details that show they make economy on stupid things: only one shower soap and shampoo for two persons and four nights. Breakfast is good, but again not unforgettable. Waiters in the breakfast room were very nice and kind. Restaurant also incredibly expensive. For the same price probably you can get better.
We ate earlier in the week at the restaurant taking advantage of a special inclusive meal. Whilst there was nothing that we could be critical of with regard to the food on offer the overall quantity was too much. Service levels were very good though you do have to say please slow down…they will. Meal number two was tonight and we leave tomorrow. We decided to have the seafood paella. We had only some olives and bread as an appetiser. This was a smart choice for us as the paella which must be ordered for two was more than we expected. The rice was cooked to perfection and the seafood consisting of mussels, prawns, calamari and mini lobsters. The service was impeccable. This is a restaurant that is not expensive given the quality of the food and service, of course , bottles of wine can certainly change the final bill.…
I picked this hotel out of the blue and have to say I was very pleased with it. I was allowed to check in a couple hours early. And very glad that I could. Because my bags did not make it on my flight from the US. So I wanted to shower very badly and go buy some new clothes. The rooms are very modern and updated and also very spacious. The front desk was very friendly and hospitable as well. This is also in very close walking distance to a metro station. About 2 mins walk away. And there is a park across the street where you can rent electric scooters. There are several restaurants and cafes in the area. And it is only a 3 minute walk or less from a major shopping area with a mall and all kinds of major international and small retailers as well as several grocery and convenience stores. I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. They have a restaurant attached to it that has a breakfast buffet that you can include in the price of the room for an additional fee. If not. It is an extra 18 Euros that they just bill to your room. The room was very clean. The A/C worked very well. I have zero complaints about this location. Would absolutely stay here again.…
My family and I came to Madrid for the wedding of our niece. We are not fluent in Spanish (English only). The staff was very kind and helpful, the rooms were cleaned daily, the free minibar was restocked every day, and the blackout louvers in the windows in the rooms helped us to get to sleep quickly and take naps during the day. We had a wonderful time in Madrid, this hotel played a major part of our experience. Even the bar/restaurant was very accommodating and provided fantastic service.
We stayed two nights in a room with a terrace. The terrace was small but lovely to have. If the temperature had not been in the 40°C + range we would have spent more time on it. As it was, it was nice to get some fresh air (and it was generally quiet!) and have a view over Madrid rooftops. The room was comfortable but small, but the bed, closets and bathroom were all quite large. The skylight in the bathroom meant we always had good light. The bed was very comfortable and the style of the hotel throughout was interesting and attractive. Cafe Varela was a beautiful spot to have breakfast, but given our short time we didn't have dinner there. The breakfast had loads of selection with fresh fruits, pastries, meats, cheeses, eggs and a variety of coffee/tea and juice options. A great way to start the day. Parking was very handy and reasonable enough, but when you drive up, understand that you can park your car (temporarily) in front of the hotel and the concierge will park it in the lot across the street. The location is absolutely terrific, right on the corner of Plaza de Santo Domingo and 2 minutes walk up to Plaza del Callao. Lots of stores, including groceries in the basement of El Corte Ingles…
It's no surprise that we encountered multiple travel issues as we began our trip to Madrid. But what a wonderful surprise to discover that our hotel was perfect in every way! Located on a pedestrian walking street with many good restaurants, the staff was 5* and the breakfast buffet at the attached Cafe Varela was one of our top 3 from all our travels. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough and will share it with any friends who travel to Madrid.
Excellent service. Outstanding facilities. The rooms are very clean, well maintained and fully equipped. The breakfast was great with more than enough choices. The front desk persons were very helpful and kind. They arranged our transportation to the airport on time. Thanks
Enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Right in the middle of town and walking distance to shops, restaurants, and more. Definitely looks updated. Room is spacious, clean, and very comfortable. Friendly staff with a warm and welcoming reception. Will stay here again when we come back to visit.
Gorgeous hotel near the Gran Vía. The rooms are spacious and updated and the price was great! The staff was attentive and very helpful. Their buffet breakfast was great and by US standards not pricey. I just wish they made me a cafe con leche instead of it coming out of a machine😔
