It was not easy to find a decent hotel which had a room with bath tub and was not too many stories high. This turned out to be an excellent choice and I would strongly recommend it. Within walking distance of the Prado (15 minutes) and other attractions it is noisy outside but the room was well insulated from that,...

This hotel is in a great location, had great amenities, spacious rooms, attentive staff and a pleasant cafe/restaurant. If you stayed here, it is very close to 3 Metro stations, Plaza Mayor and Calle Baja which is a narrow street filled with restaurants.

Nice, boutique hotel centrally located in Madrid. It is close to metro stops, but there are many attractions that are within walking distance. It is surrounded by many bars, restaurants and shopping. The staff was very nice and extremely helpful. The room was large, clean, comfortable and well appointed. The mini bar was complimentary and re-stocked every day. The bathroom...

Good hotel and great location. Located in a walking street, 2 minutes from sol plaza. The breakfast was really good with a lot of choices. The front desk let us check out in 15:00. The room is not big but very comfortable.

Situated in central Madrid approx. 10 min walk from Plaza De La Puerto Del Sol and close to a Metro station ( Callao ) A comfortable modern hotel with a kettle ( unusual in Europe) and a complimentary mini bar ( fresh juice, water, soft drinks and beer) in the room.We didn't have breakfast included in our room rate but it was...

Location is central to Madrid's cultural and shopping areas. All of the staff here were friendly and extremely helpful. Our room was a decent size, and the bathroom was quite large with a big shower, though be weary of the glass bathroom door. Our overall experience was first rate from beginning to end!

Perfect location. Convenient walking distance to Plaza Mayor, Plaza de Sol, and metro. Friendly, helpful staff. They were very accommodating. The room was small but clean. It was simple, and modern in style. A nice feature was a balcony with electronically controlled shutters to block out the sound and light. We did not eat in the restaurant or take advantage...

Highly recommended for anyone who wants easy walking access to all central Madrid points of interest as well as local (as opposed to touristy) restaurants. Attentive staff. Great Breakfast. Our Premium room overlooked Preciados, yet was quiet. Modern decor throughout with excellent walk in shower.

The hotel is located right in the heart of Madrid so most of the major attractions are in easy walking distance. Two metro stations are located very close. Our premium room was really gorgeous, furnished with style and attention to the last detail. The room was very clean and equipped with every little amenity one could think of (no slippers...

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
