We have just returned from a wonderful four night stay at this fantastic hotel. The rooms were very generously sized having two very large twin beds (they do have doubles apparently but they were taken), a smallish living are with sofa and a hidden away kitchenette. Only criticism of the room is that it doesn't come with a kettle, mugs...

We visited Madrid for a weekend break and stayed in this hotel, we found it a very convenient location a short walk to the Metro and the large park. Hotel staff were excellent and very helpful and friendly at all times. Breakfast was not included but we paid €12.50 per day each which I felt was a little bit expensive....

Excellent on all counts. Staff wonderful, helpful and friendly. Room super. Kitchenette compact unobtrusive and very convenient. Loved it. Well worth the price-- not cheap. In a very good area, very central, safe, ideal for a solo traveller.

This hotel is in a perfect location. You can walk to Retiro Park in 5 minutes and Plaza Major in 20. It is surrounded by Metro stations which can get you to anywhere in the city you may wish to visit. You can access reasonably priced bars and restaurants if you complete basic research. It is good for shopping although...

This hotel is very well located, on a quiet little side street in an otherwise busy area a few blocks from Retiro Park, Puerto de Alcala, and the Retiro Metro station on a main metro line. Pleasant, helpful staff. Our room was very quiet with comfortable beds, nice bathroom with a great shower that doesn't flood the bathroom floor like...

We are here for a weekend break. What a fantastic hotel. Perfectly located for shopping in the best retail area of Madrid. But he front of house staff are efficient unassuming friendly and so so helpful. When we arrived we were allocated an upgrade to suite on the top floor without even asking. The room is great and the facilities...

My husband and I stayed in this nice hotel in the end of January. Rooms are very clean and comfortable and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The hotel is located in a very nice part of town and walking distance to a tube station. We certainly recommend this hotel and happily would stay there again.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay and would highly recommend this hotel. The staff is attentive, friendly and professional, helping us with transport plans and making our stay here extra special. The breakfast buffet is great value, with a wide selection of cold and hot food. We also enjoyed an evening meal and snacks from the hotel...

We liked the location. We also liked that the room was large and that the bathroom was spacious and the shower state-of-the-art. The fact that there was a kitchenette helped a lot and had partly been a reason for us to pick this particular hotel. The WiFi was good and very stable (one didn't have to login every time on...

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighbourhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighbourhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
