A small friendly hotel ideally situated, just off a busy road but not too noisy, a few minutes walk to bars and restaurants. The room was a bit small but had a pleasant view. There was a smell of drains in the bathroom, but was otherwise very clean. The Wi-Fi was good but the television was limited to only Spanish... More

The hotel is in a great location but sadly the hotel is very disappointing. There is firstly a fowsty smell when you enter the reception area. Then we were given probably the smallest hotel room in Madrid, room 408 with no view at all but does have a nice bathroom. When I asked to change they said it was fully... More

This small hotel gives the feeling of Spain. It is well located walking distance from the Palace and the Cava Baja street full of restaurants. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, although small. Jose at the front desk speaks perfect English and makes you feel like you are staying at his home. He is quite helpful with information and... More

We have just returned from 4 days in Madrid. We stayed at the HRC for 3 nights. A birthday treat from my daughter, What a little find. Our room was fantastic stunning view, lovely terrace, spotlessly clean. Jose Carlos on the reception was so helpful and friendly nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for making our stay perfect

This hotel is in a great area, but the hotel itself is very disappointing. Our room smelled like sewage and the air conditioning would only run when the hotel wanted it too which was not often. The breakfast was not kept up and the tables were all dirty and food not replenished even after asking. It's too bad because we... More

The good: The two front desk guys were welcoming, helpful and accommodating. Decent location, decent free breakfast. But that's about where the good news ends. The bad: I booked 4 nights. The first night they gave me a room that clearly had a smell issue. I had to sleep in that room the first night due to having to work... More

We had a lovely stay in the HRC hotel in Madrid . Don't have breakfast as it's very poor , there is a coffee shop down stairs and the staff tend to work there rather than in the breakfast room. Otherwise we couldn't fault the staff who were very nice and helpful . We would definitely return .

Staying in La Latina

Neighbourhood Profile
La Latina
La Latina is a charming neighbourhood with two unique personalities. At first glance, it’s distinctly old-world, with narrow streets weaving a maze among charming stone buildings in sunny, bright colors like yellow and pink. The other side of La Latina is characterized by a young population and a bohemian vibe, as evidenced by a dynamic and evolving selection of new bars, shops, coworking spaces, and other businesses popping up in the area. In the northern part of the neighbourhood, the Cava Alta and Cava Baja streets constitute the tapas center of Madrid, where each age-old restaurant serves up distinctive specialties like huevos rotos and patatas bravas. Locals have come here for generations to while away hours over drinks and tapas with friends. On Sundays and public holidays, the streets to the south of La Latina metro station transform into a giant open-air market full of locals sifting through tent after tent of art, apparel, and antiques. Any day of the week, the intriguing blend of the traditional and the hip make the streets of La Latina worth exploring.
