From this location we were able to walk to all the sites. The hosts were extremely helpful in offering sites to see, free times at museums and background on local culture. The rooms were quiet, peaceful and up-to-date bathrooms. Breakfast was generous and very tasty, with homemade breads. Be aware the B&B is 3 flights up, no elevator, but well...

My son and I had stayed at this wonderful B&B two years ago and upon returning this year we were greeted like long lost friends! Rodolfo and Paola are really nice people and this shines through as hosts of this friendly B&B. It is ideally located in the old part of the city and within easy walking distance to many...

We enjoyed our stay at Artistic. Perfect location in the old part of the city and 3 blocks from Prado and all attractions near the Prado. We had an easy walk to the Royal Palace and the great sights on the way. Quaint bedrooms with excellent air conditioning. Clean. Nice bathroom with great shower. Excellent breakfast with wonderful cereal, fruit...

I can't say enough about this wonderful B&B centrally located in Madrid. The great museums, including the Prado and the Reina Sofia, are within easy walking distance. Plenty of restaurants, including Casa Alberto, are nearby. Although a tough climb to the third floor, it's the place to stay in Madrid.

Recently stayed at Artistic B&B for two nights. After arriving in Madrid from what was suppose to be a 1st class sleeper from Lisbon, but was actually a 3hr suburban train then a 3hr bus ride, we boarded our sleeper at 3am (due to a derailment). So upon arriving in Madrid after only 2hrs sleep, we were very happy to...

I spent 3 days in Madrid in early July and enjoyed each moment thanks to Paola and Rudolfo and their comfortable B and B! My room was small but comfortable and clean and taken care of daily. Breakfasts were varied, filling and delicious and a good time to meet other guests. It is walking distance to the Prado and other...

They were so helpful with recommending sites, shops, restaurants and even an acupuncturist- yes my husband had hurt his back only a few days into our trip and...

It was the first stop of our month long Euro Honeymoon and what a great start it was. The location was central and close to numerous metro stops and the train station (which was useful as we traveled by rain down to Barcelona for our next stop). My wife and I spent every day of our 4 day stay walking...

Stayed five days at Artistic B&B, and enjoyed every hour of it. After just half an hour you feel like you have got two new friends in Rodolfo and Paola, the owners. Nice proposals for what to see anf what to do, and they are not in a hurry, you get all the help and feedback you can ever need....

We loved this place. First, Rodolfo was an extraordinary host. His English is perfect, he sent me links to answer a few of my questions about things to do, and made sure my coffee was perfect. I just got the feeling that I was actually a guest in his house. Second, the location was great. Not only was it centrally-located,...

Staying in Huertas

Neighbourhood Profile
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighbourhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighbourhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
