The Artistic B&B is in a great location in the city. Extremely close to the main art museums and Retiro Park and within 15-20 minute walk of the Plaza Mayor. Rooms are cozy and clean and are decorated with such a great charm. Breakfast is served at a communal table - yogurt, cereal, fruit, homemade cake, cheese toast, etc. Paola...

I stayed for six nights and would gladly have stayed longer. Rodolfo, Paola and May were all incredibly fun to talk to. They genuinely made me feel welcome, while sharing information about the history of the city, great local restaurants(not tourist traps), and how to avoid crowds. The place is very beautifully decorated with different themes in each room. All...

Comfortable and welcoming Artistic B&B offered us a great location within minutes of all the main central eateries and attractions of Madrid. Located on the third floor of a typical older Madrid apartment block, the owners live above and provide a good breakfast to set you up for the day. It is attractively furnished and colourful, the beds are comfortable...

Stayed for a week in this centrally located B&B. Nicely equipped and presented rooms. Tasty breakfasts with large selection of food. Friendly and helpful hosts. We had a street facing room which was relatively spacious and quiet. First Class accommodation.

Paola and Rodolfo are warm and gracious hosts. Their B&B was not only a perfect place to begin our daily outings but also a relaxing place to retreat to at days end. They provided us with maps showing local restaurants and points of interest. Three great museums, the Prado, Thyssen and d'Orsay are no more that 15 minute walks away....

This family owned B&B was the first one in the old city area. It is on the third floor which means climbing 58 steps to get there since the ground floor is 0. There are a number of different sized rooms. We had room 1. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom adequate but very small. If you are...

The Artisitic B+B was a delight. It's in a great location, close to everything we wanted to see and an amazing value. Paolo + Rodolfo are the perfect hosts. We so enjoyed visiting with them + the other guests over breakfast which were wonderful.

We booked this place purely on the back of previous tripadvisor reviews and despite high expectations we were pretty happy with out stay - in terms of the basics, the room was very clean, the bathroom and shower were to a good standard, and the location was perfect for us. Yet undoubtedly the best thing about this place is the...

Thank you so much again, Paola and Rodolfo! My friend and I had stayed there for 5 nights in March, very enjoyable! Location: located in 3rd floor of historic building of center, 5 - 10 min walking to Prado and other two excellent museums, 10 - 20 min walking to Plaza Mayor Royal Palace and Plaza Spain. And surrounded by...

Staying in Huertas

Neighbourhood Profile
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighbourhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighbourhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
