The Wellington is a traditional Grand Hotel located perfectly for a Madrid City Trip. The rooms are not as big as expected but perfectly furnished in an old style. Bathrooms very good - we loved asll the Amenities like shower gel, Soap etc.
Located a few minute walk to Retiro Park, Puerta Alcala and Metro. The Wellington Hotel is a high class hotel with wonderful restaurants both adjoining and nearby. If you like to walk, Retiro Park is across the street. Puerta De Sol in the center of...More

Dear Daniel C,
Thank you so much for your stay at The Wellington Hotel,
We are very happy to know that you enjoyed the location and the Hotel Services,
We hope see you again in the future,
The Wellington Hotel earns its 5-star rating. Comfortable, modern, and luxurious. The breakfast buffet is bountiful and the service superior. The Prado is a pleasant mile (or less) walk through the attractive Buen Retiro Park gardens. Several very good restaurants nearby. Definitely recommended. 👍
We spent 4 nights in April, 2018, and found it to exceed our expectations. We give it top marks for location (5 minutes from Retiro Park and walking distance from the main museums, close to excellent resteraunts in the elegant Salamanca area), friendly and efficient...More
We States at Wellington for three days combined business and pleasure. Hotel is nice classic hotel - clean - great service - fantastic breakfast. It’s very well maintained and position in the center. We will come back.
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighbourhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of
opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.

We had the taster menu which I thought was delicious despite some poor reviews on their here. I hope this reply was not too late for you and enjoy your anniversary.
