Wonderful hotel. Well worth opting for the Welling Club facility. Fantastic nibbles and drinks on an exclusive area on the 7th floor. My only irks were no gift from the artisan in house bakery was offered or an article of clothing that was included to be ironed. These were never mentioned and were supposed to be included and whilst not...

Staying in Wellington hotel in Madrid was a superb experience from stepping out of taxi on arrival to stepping into one when leaving. Service is simply outstanding. When you combine that with spacious and clean room, and beautiful common areas including breakfast/dining areas, you have it all. Breakfast is amazing, and if you sleep through it on weekend, you can...

Highly recommended, spent three nights on a business trip in December. Excellent staff and service, especially Fernando at the front desk. Staff act like they really care, and are proud,to work in this hotel. Luxurious rooms, fabulous bathroom, great breakfast and cafe. Live music In the lounge on Thursday evenings. I forgot my tablet in the room and they mailed...

This hotel has a tradition connected to bullfighters, is very classical in terms of decor. Indeed little has changed since I was last here a few years ago. Service is friendly although you can expect some waiting in the cafe and bar, speed is not of essence, after all, this is Madrid. The rooms are nice but will be tight...

I had a very short stay at the Wellington but found it faultless. Arrived very late, around midnight; swift check in and good room with a very nice bathroom. Sleep quality excellent; extra pillows and blankets in the room without having to ring for housekeeping and the coffee in the morning arrived within about 5 minutes! Didn't really see much...

I can't help it. I like to be spoiled. I do. Stayed at The Wellington for a 3-night business trip and I was not disappointed! The room was very large and comfortable, with really lovely appointments. The staff was gracious and very helpful. The breakfast was incredible. But the spa....FANTASTIC! I had both a facial and massage and they were...

The hotel Wellington is glorious, it was my birthday which they didn't know, but because I had some cards brought from home on display, I returned from our day in town to find hand made chocolates with a message waiting for us on the bedside table. So appreciated, a lovely touch. Wonderful location and staff were so helpful any queries...

My boyfriend was working in Madrid and I came along to sightsee whilst he worked. The hotel when I arrived on my own was very grand, as he had already checked in they asked to see my ID etc which I thought was great so they know who is staying there. Our room was lovely! although we thought it kept...

My husband and a colleague went to Madrid for work , i came along for shopping and relaxation. The hotel was beautiful - reception and common areas were big and had a royal touch. The bar was disappointingly brown and quiet, the rooms we got were very very old and worn. Wall to wall carpets are not my favorite as...

My wife and I stayed here while traveling through Spain in October. The hotel is extremely nice and very historical with a mid 1920's vibe. The room was nice and quiet and the location was a block away from the metro and only a few blocks away from some major tourist attractions. The only issue I had was that when...

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighbourhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighbourhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
