This hotel is clean, friendly, perfectly situated, and features a wonderful 9th floor gem of a lounge with a large tv and snacks/drinks. We did not eat the buffet brunch b/c it was expensive and other guests warned us not to. We loved our spacious room and how clean it was. The bathrooms are clean and well appointed. I'd return...

This is a lovely hotel in a very good location. All the important sites were nearby; we never used public transport one time; walked everywhere. There is also a nice supermarket directly across the street. The room was spacious and clean; and the prices were reasonable. The hotel has a terrific roof top bar that you must see. Despite being...

We truly enjoyed our stay at the lovely Hotel Atlantico. The front desk staff was very helpful, personable and knowledgable. Our room was lovely with street view and was handy to shopping and restaurants. It sparkled. We had a few cocktails at the bar and it was nice as well. Our only concern was that the room was a bit...

Three days were not enough to have much more than a taster of this vibrant city. We walked through magnificent squares, streets and parks. Visited the cathedral, art galleries and would have loved to see the interior of the palace but it was closed so had to make do with was wondering round the outside. The food was amazing at...

Very pleasant front desk staff, a large and very comfortable quiet room and an enormous bathroom. Superb roof terrace and bar overlooking Madrid. The only negative was that the room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke which only slightly eased over the 4 days we were there. Supposedly it's a non smoking hotel but clearly the ash tray provided in the...

Hotel Atlantico is in a great location for shopping, restaurants, underground. Friendly staff, warm welcome, beautiful modern room overlooking main street with balcony doors. Convenient location for Playa Major (Square) which is a popular tourist spot. Highly recommended.

We happened to show up at one of the busiest weekends in Madrid: San Isidro. Our super-quiet room was a welcome respite from the frenzy. There are pros and cons to an interior room: we didn't have a balcony with a view, but our room was so quiet and restful. That's a good thing, because the hotel is located on...

A lovely hotel right in the centre of this lovely city. Very clean & room had all the amenities you could want, even slipper & dressing gowns. We had balcony windows that opened even in our standard room. Breakfast was good but perhaps a bit limited in its choice. Excellent service throughout the hotel. I would stay again.

Having been at the atlantico several times before this was the first time since it left Best Western, I was not disappointed! The rooms were all spotless, and from the reception staff to the cleaners, they were all very friendly. The breakfast at 12€ is well worth it.The short walk to the main part a the city centre is also a...

Staying in Malasana

Neighbourhood Profile
Malasana
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighbourhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
