Excellent location near to metro access and all the attractions. Great places to eat and drink only a stones throw away. Only 5 euro on metro from airport and metro is easy to navigate. Walking distance to prado , palace, sol and plaza mayor . Great stay

I would not recommend this hostel. The rooms are horrible, they are not cleaned everyday. The bed was broken and squeaky. The rooms are in a 3rd floor and there isn't a lift , which is not convenient if you have a pram and a 10 months baby

In average wasn't bad but I had 2 particular but relevant bad experiences 1. When I booked I asked for an early check in, they confirmed but when I did arrive I had to wait for a regular check in. 2. In my way out I asked for a taxi to the airport the night before of my departure, again... More

I like the place very much. It's clean, comfartable beds. There is only one problem, but seems is a city problem. The noise from outside is too much. Aircondition body was just outside on our small terrace - you can not sleep on open window if you don't want to use aircodition.

Great hotel for location. Room was slightly small however we didn't mind as it was just a base for us to put our heads down. Would recommend instead of having a computer in the room to have a kettle. Loved the little touch of having water and Pepsi max in the fridge each day. Power shower great! Surrounded by many... More

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
