Loved this hotel! All of the staff were professional and the front desk team addressed us by name everyday. Short taxi ride to all of the best Madrid destinations. The neighborhood was quite, safe and easy to walk. Bicycles are also available. There are some great restaurants close by as well. We will stay here again.

Santo Mauro is a small hotel located in a traditional neighborhood in Madrid but very close to restaurants, museums and shops. The service in the hotel is exquisite and the rooms are spacious and confortable. This building use to be the house of one important family of Madrid and still has the wall and ceiling decorations and chimenee. A very...

This hotel is amazing! The staff is all very friendly and the room was charming. Very well kept hotel. In a nice and quiet area, but you are within walking distance and close by all the action. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends and family.

Stayed here a couple nights. Its a 20 minute walk to Grand Via / Plaza Mayor etc. The staff (incl Carlos) was very helpful to provide recommendations and assistance with restaurant reservations. The rooms were a tiny walk with some stairs from the lobby. The lobby is elegant, with a red room and an Asian themed room. An old school...

I stayed here on business for a total of about 4 weeks. I had a room in one of the buildings in the courtyard. The room was spacious with chairs and a round table, his and her sinks, separately shower and a tub, and a walk in closet. The room was beautifully appointed, lots of storage space, and a high...

We spent 4 nights at this hotel on late November. Although we are Marriott Platinum member, this was our first time at an Autograph hotel. We never had difficulties to guarantee the bed type at Marriott.com, but here we had to send an email after booking, because the bed type wasn’t guaranteed online. We were concerned about some hotel reviews...

Perhaps having come from La Residencia in Deia, Mallorca our standards are too high. However, as Platinum for years Marriott members in transit to US and overnighting in Madrid, the expectation for a "free" room is better than this. There is a very pervasive smell of mold and sewage in the bathroom, poorly masked by scent. It's one night and...

This was a great hotel for our three night stay in Madrid. Our room, directly on a back patio was luxurious and beyond our expectations. First, the bedroom was very large, and the bathroom, probably the largest we have ever had in a hotel. It was extremely quiet, with a most comfortable bed, all of which contributed to a restful...

Staying in Chamberi

Neighbourhood Profile
Chamberi
Multi-story residential buildings decorated with ornate balconies line the traditional, quiet, and pretty streets of Chamberí. Humble storefronts and neighbourhood taverns are scattered across the lower levels down every block, and here and there, there's a cluster of tables on the sidewalk. It isn't ever crowded, but people are always out, poking into the tiny bakeries, hardware stores, and tobacco shops, or ducking into a bright, unadorned cerveceria to have a coffee or beer by the bar, flip through the paper, and check the sports score. The round Plaza Olavide, where the fairly regular network of streets breaks form, is among the most green and lively spots. Restaurants line its circumference and sought-after outdoor tables fill the center of the plaza, where people relax to the sounds of kids playing and street musicians' tunes.
