It is a beautiful hotel if you like old fashioned but stylish hotels. It has a charm but is still very comfortable and with all necessities. The decoration is beautiful and there is a very nice terrace in front of the hotel. It is located just next to the Prado Museum and the Botanical Garden. The breakfast is fair unless...

The service offered was second to none and they took car of all arrangements from arranging dinner reservations to even having Hertz deliver a car to the hotel for a day...

Stayed at Ritz for 3 nights in late August. It was magical. Staff was all very warm and friendly, especially Alejandro and Raul at the Concierge desk. Love the terrace for lunch with piano player, and we also loved the Tapas and cocktails taken in the garden. Expensive, yes, but completely worth it.

This hotel is very well maintained and beautiful. Little details such as the little doll at the door are just what make this place very unique. The experience at each room is like going back on time. And the view from the room is just amazing.! Inspired Peru

My husband and I noticed the Ritz next door to the Prado and decided to visit. We asked about cooking lessons, having done it at the Ritz in Paris 5 years ago. They arranged a lesson for us the following day. Jorge Gonzalez was our chef, ably assisted by another chef who photographed the entire experience and gave us the...

Staying in Paseo del Prado

Neighbourhood Profile
Paseo del Prado
The area around the elegant Paseo del Prado boulevard is much-visited by both locals and tourists. The world-famous Prado, the Reina Sofia, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza museums form a triangle of art and culture that spans this grand and beautiful avenue. On weekdays, the Prado Museum opens its doors for free after-work hours, drawing a diverse and excited queue of art lovers that wraps around the block. Palacio de Cibeles and Círculo de Bellas Artes cultural centers are other artsy hangouts to check out, with rooftop bars that provide impressive views of the city. While the Paseo del Prado and its roundabouts form a busy throughway in Madrid, a broad green pedestrian park in the middle is a calm and gorgeous place for a relaxing stroll. Just east of the museums, the Retiro Park is always a confluence of activity as families and friends of all ages take to the pretty paths and lawns to stretch their legs or to have a picnic.
