Loved this place, so centrally located, and ideal for eating anywhere and wandering back to the room. The hotel staff had good English which helped. The room was on the smaller side, but that was to be expected in the centre of town. The price was very good for what we paid for.

This was a wonderful hotel in a great location. I had stayed on 2 previous occasions. However I was unable to find it on the regular search engines or the Best Western site, Eventually I contacted Best Western and was advised it was no longer part of their brand.

My daughter and myself stayed here for 3 nights and couldn't believe our luck on finding such a gem of a place in Madrid! The location is perfect, you are in the heart of everything, 2 mins to your left and you were on Gran Via, a shoppers paradise and 2 mins to your right at Puerta de Sol. We...

This is a clean good hotel right in the centre so within walking distance to most of the attractions I agree with all the good reviews. My only problem was having to share a double bed with my big ugly snoring mate on the first night .. Aghhhh The booking site I went with never offered twin rooms only single...

Very friendly and excellent customer service. Awesome breakfast buffet and reasonable price. Room always cleaned well. Furniture could use some upgrades and walls are thin. Loud guests from the hallway could be heard well in the room.

The good- Location is perfect and staff was helpful wen we needed assistance. The bad- The hotel room was a big let down. I was sold by the photos which made the room look nice, clean, and inviting but in reality it was tiny, uncomfortable, and bleak as the room's window looked into a dark alley. The bathroom and shower...

Great location. Right in the heart of Puerta del Sol. As soon as you go outside of the hotel, you are steps away to the shops and restaurants. It has an elegant dining room, antique type. The room and the bathroom are small but functional. It is not a place to stay a long time. I will feel claustrophobic. There is...

My wife and I were very happy with our stay. The hotel is located in the middle of most major attractions. Mercado San Miguel is walking distance. There's a great churros and Spanish hot chocolate near by called Chocolateria San Gines which is amazing!! Ok, back to the hotel now... The breakfast buffet was delicious and our wait staff was...

The location i just perfect close to Sol and all shopping around. Classic rooms, cleanless is perfect and free wifi. Delicous breakfast too. A good choice are the rooms on the 5th floor with big terrace.

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
